I am starting to find myself in the market for a utility trailer in the neighborhood of 5'x10' to haul mowers and other equipment, mulch, stone, etc. and have absolutely zero idea of what kind of price range I'll be looking at. I realize that many of you are in California and I'm in Western North Carolina, but any knowledge is welcomed and appreciated. Also if anyone from Western North Carolina is lurking around here, any ideas about dealers in WNC would be helpful as well.
In Houston Texas you can buy a 5x10 trailer for about $700 new.Cheapest guy in town is a co called The Trailer Man.Don't know the web address, just Google it. He builds nice trailers, expanded metal ramp,15" tires etc.A lot of people in my ATV group have bought from them...
I'm in central NC (Charlotte area) There are plenty of trailer manufacturers around here. Golden Gait is a big one, I think other trailer places someimes carry and sell them also. I can't tell you of anything closer, but just do an internet search and something will turn up. If nothing else, it may be worth the drive to come over and see some in person. I can help you out if you come to the area.
home depot here carries a variety of them its always a possibility. not always the best price but convienant.
We have a interstate trailer manufacturing plant here in town and they put out a lot of different labels on ther product, could do a google and locate Interstate and find dealers.
Nowhere near NC but here in north alabama I just bought a lightly used 5x10 tilt bed for $350. Could've bought a brand new one for around $425. This is for one with a 1500lb axel rating which is fine for most of my uses.
Reason I went with this one used over a brand new one was that the guy had added a nice little tongue jack and an igloo cooler to the tongue as storage. Easily worth $50 all by themselves.
I'll bet that if you ask around locally you can find a small dealer who has his own built for probably about the same. Nice thing about that situation is that you can get little extra's added on for not much money.
To be honest, I'd defiinitely go that route vs Home Depot...HD gets a LOT of money for some pretty crappy trailers IMHO.
