Default Tundra & Truck Campers. Anyone Here?

I'm currently looking into getting a travel trailer for my camping adventures. But... I am still kind of stuck on buying a truck camper so I could possibly tow a fishing boat later on down the road. Does anyone here use a slide in truck camper? I have not been able to find any posts on Tundra Solutions. If so, do you use helper springs to beef up the cargo limit? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Teg

Teg,

Another good source for truck camper info is rv.net. Just did a search of their truck camper forum and there were myriad threads mentioning the Tundra and truck campers. From my brief read, you will be limited to the lightest of campers in order to stay within the payload limits of the Tundra. Adding springs won't increase that limit, just make it ride more level.

Thanks Tom!

Yeah, it was more of wishful thinking. I was just curious if anyone here was using one. I wouldn't mind just having a simple camper, but the better half wants a little more comfort (toilet/shower). Thanks for checking into that site and for your input!

BE CAREFUL!!! iN MY GALLERY ARE PICTURES OF A TUNDRA with a broken frame. BOTH SIDES!
The owner had a slide in camper (1500lbs empty) and a 11 pack DEAVER leaf spring. We figured about 3000lbs with his water/fridge /camping gear and other stuff that was in there.
The springs dont add to the weight you can carry , they are just for support.
Listen to your wife . You'll both be happier .
