When shopping, look at the whole package....brakes, ramps, hitch. For your purposes, a light-weight tandem trailer with electric brakes will be more than enough. DIfferent lengths are available...if you think you might trailer a longer car, be safe and buy a longer trailer. The one thing that can really make a difference in how easy the trailer is to use is the configuration of the ramps. You want ramp storage on the trailer or integral ramps. Texas Rollback makes a trailer that tilts back and you just drive up the trailer. If you go that route, outfit the trailer with a winch because you aren't going to push a car up that trailer!

If buying used, check out the tires, hubs, and brakes very closely.

Cool... I found them to be very impressive, they make a LOT of trailers yet had time to work with my requests for quite a few custom changes. (Dealer first said no way, I went to the factory and main man Kevin said no problem) I love my Funrunner FDD 242, it just feels really right all around. Well designed and reasonably priced. It has wide track torsion axles, and a flying wedge profile, my '03 SR5 4WD was pulling it uphill at 80 without incident (other than noting it was a good time to ease up just a bit!)

Spritefriend - From time to time, you'll likely use that trailer for other things then just towing a car. I would recommend you think about one with a solid floor. Besides, it'll have better resale value when it's time to get rid of it.

I have to agree with WILLY. I have this Bike and Car Haulers : 70DM TRAILER - TRAILERS - Utility Equipment Trailers - Gooseneck Dump Trailers - Big Tex Trailers, home of the largest flatbed utility trailer and industrial equipment trailer manufacturer in the nation. BigTex can design and b
I have towed things on this trailer I probably shouldn't have, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. It WILL handle just about everything you could throw at it.

Its great for any vehicle, moving furniture, dirt, rocks, motorcyles, whatever you need.

This way you never have to borrow or rent any one elses and you will always know its condition of the brakes, tires and electrical system.

yea.. thats some good advice, but having a flat bed trailer like that opens up invites for your friends to ask you for help moving

im still debating to be completely honest.
