2007 Jayco 29N Feather
I just got rid of a 27' lightweight travel trailer that pulled real well. I purchased a new Jayco 29n feather and am really surprised at how well it pulls. although it weighs (dry weight 5280 lbs) which is 1,000 lbs. mopre than my 27' did ,it pulls better as it is a lower profile. Physical length is 30' 8". I use 1,000 lb. load bars and a friction sway control which really work great. On my tundra I have 20" wheels and tires, Borla cat Back duals, a vortec in the air intake along with K&N filter. I get an honest 10MPG pulling this camper compared to 9 MPG with the 27' camper. Also on a trip to Disney (60 Miles away) i could pull in OD @ 64MPH @ 2000 rpm if I wanted to. I thought that this large of a trailer would overload the Tundra but i was surprised at the power available to pass. As far as sway when a large truck passes it does not matter what size truck you have it will get a hold of your unit a little. There are 2 ticks to this (1) When you see a truck aproaching put your hands on the bottom of the steering wheel and wiggle it slightly as the truck passes or (2) move to the right side of your lane as it approaches. This was learned from a towing article many years ago. i do not make a habit of towing in overdrive bu this truck will do it on level ground.
