Default new horse trailer

Just picked up our 06 Sequoia Ltd 4x4, it states that the max load is 6200 lbs. Anyone have any recent or past experience hauling a 2-horse trailer. This would be a weekend thing only, no long trips, just to the horse park etc..

Has anyone actually been using a recent model Sequoia to tow a 2-horse aluminum trailer loaded with 2 horses, 4500 lb, plus 1000 lb of people and gear inside? According to Toyota and trailer dealers, the numbers should work. But horses are not normal cargo. Does anyone have direct experience to report? Thanks.

i can tell you with a tundra i have towed a 3 horse slant trailer with 2 horses in it plus a ton of riding and camping gear in it. i also had some hay and feed in the bed on that trip, and it towed great. sure i got 7-8 mpg (lots of passes) but it did it fine. only complaint i have is the back end being way too soft, but part of that is just simply my springs are already worn out, since they are made to ride more "car-like" (i.e. softer) then the springs wore out a lil sooner than i thought. im gonna have a custom add a leaf set built to replace the overload and get the height and towing/payload capacity back in my truck.

now before all you guys read this and say "dont listen to him, hes bein dumb with the leafs wearing out thing" i have actually gone to the dealer and they confirmed this, and we put a new fresh leaf pack on one side to test it and it sat a full inch and a half higher than the other side.

sorry if that does ya no help since you have a diff rear suspension, but thought id throw it in there anyhow. power wise you will be fine, just keep it outta OD and keep all your fluids in check and watch your gauges
