The Voyager is a very good traditional type inertial controller. As long you tow on mostly level ground (think Florida), it'll work about as well as Prodigy (which uses solid state accelerometers and is immune to the effects of hills on braking force). But since you live in WA and probably will be towing on hilly/mountainous terrain, yes you will notice substantially more proportional braking anytime you are going uphill or downhill when applying the brakes. Is that worth around $105~$125? My answer would be yes....especially since you undoubtedly can ebay the Voyager and get around $50 (maybe more) for it.

What is involved in removing the Voyager & installing the Prodigy? Thanks

Almost nothing. Both use the same Tekonsha wiring plug so no rewiring will be needed. There might be a difference in mounts.
