Weight of Gasoline

Long story short, I was wondering how much 1 gallon of gasoline weighs and I found this site.

Thought it would be helpful for those of you who like to know exactly how much everything weighs when towing.

Specific gravity of gasoline is 42.5 lb/cubic foot

1 US gallon = 0.133680556 cubic feet

0.133680556 * 42.5 = 5.68 lbs

Lots of variation it would seem; maybe a leaded/unleaded thing? Or US/Imperial gallons? (I tried a little searching and found even more different answers and diesel is heavier usually)

Now there have been articles before about quality variation issues, assertions of "dumping" old/bad batches into the supply stream (Relatively minor usually, big pharma does the same thing, is that a Be Very Afraid sign or what?

I would guess it is just under the weight of water since it will float ontop of water. the weight of water is 8.34lbs per gallon, so a gallon of gas would be near 8 lbs/gal.
