Reading the news release, it appears that Toyota has done an admirable job of preparing for a situation like this. Unfortunately, it won't be long before they too are forced to start reducing staff across their operation.
Well, it does make it harder for any company to compete when their competitors are getting billions of government aid. Even if their product is superior, it's hard to justify that when you can buy a tax-payer subsidized vehicle which costs less, and 0% financing.
Considering all the Toyota plants in North America, and therefore all the employees of Toyota who are affected by the slow down, I'm kind of surprised Toyota didn't ask for $$ here.

If the banks werent hoarding all of OUR money that was given to them by the government and credit was more available, all of this wouldnt be neccesary.
Yet another example of all of us suffering due to corporate greed.
