Eric,
What is the difference between the JackRabbit, full metal jackrabbit, bedlocker and roll top tonneau options from Pace Edwards? I have a 07 crewmax. Any dealers in MA that you would recommend to install? Thanks
Yes, just click on our banner under this forum listing. All the cover are cleary described and they are is a comparrison sheet link listed that also includes our competition.
We make them for all the new Tundra's.
Prices range from $700 for the original Roll Top Cover to $1,800 for the electric Bedlocker.
Atlanta-You can use our dealer locater on our website, and I recomend Wild Willies or Total Appearance.
Mass-Yankee Custom, any location.
You can call me at the factory, 800-338-3697 ext. 219 if you have any more questions.
Can the FM JackRabbit be used with Toyota's OME Beb Extender? Looks like it has a bit of overhang that would get in the way of the extender's rotation.
I just looked at the Bedlocker demo on the Pace Edwards site and saw a bed extender under the cover, hope that means the answer to my question above is yes.
In most cases the bed extender can still be used, but it will impede normal operation. This means you may have to lift it out of the bracket and then reattach after you pull the extender out.
My engineers are out today, but please feel free to call me on Monday at 800-338-3697 Ext. 219 and I will confirm.
Pace, I had a Roll N Lock on a 2001 F150 Supercrew for many years and it performed well. I just purchased a 2007 Tundra Ltd Crew Max this week and am looking at retractable covers again.
What I didn't like about my Roll N Lock were 3 things:
-the space lost on either side of my bed rails and the front of my bed (for the top when rolled up). I understand you have to lose some space, but on a shorter short bed, space is at a maximum.
-during a heavy rain, I did get some water inside the bed while the top was fully closed.
-the black vinyl top bleached some in the hot Texas sun. It was hard to keep it the original jet black color.
Do your products have the same issues? Can I gain some added space on the sides and upper portion of my truck bed? Are your covers better weatherproofed? Is vinyl care an issue or do your covers handle the hot sun better?
If your covers can address these issues, you just may have a convert! LOL
Can you recommend any Houston dealers that have experience installing your product on a Tundra Crew Max?
Hi!
Truck Gear SuperCenter in Houston Texas is the number one Pace Edwards dealer in Houston and we can answer any questions. We carry most models in stock and can usually install the same day. Check us out at Truck Accessories | Tonneau Covers | Camper Shells | Houston Texas.
I would reccomend a Full metal version of the JackRabbit and you wont have fade issues.

Pace,
I just installed a FMJ on my '07 Tundra double cab short bed, and had a pretty significant amount of water coming in from various spots on the truck. I have the factory bed covers still on the truck, and only used the pre-installed sealing tape in the installation. I'm thinking I should probably add a row of sealing tape around the inner perimeter of the bed and double row of it on the front. Any other suggestions, or comments about improving the water proof aspects of the cover? Other than the water seeping in, the cover is excellent. The install went well, and without issue, (once tech support helped me find the hardware - user error), and took about 2 hours being very careful with one person. The fit and finish is nice, and the explorer rails rock.
I am about to install a PE FM tonneau on my 2007 Tundra. I have two sets of drain plugs on each side of the front of the bed. In which of these should I drill the necessary holes? The ones closest to the edge of the bed or the ones closer to the center of the front of the bed?
