I am personaly still very happy with my decision to get this and has served me well in allowing me to keep things dry and secure in the bed plus allows me to carry over size items realy easily by just flipping the panels up against the back of the cab. Its worked so well for me that I have not had to remove it to fit anything into thte cargo area yet.
Re: G2 Bakflip installed on Crewmax w/pics and small review
I've had mine for about a month and so far, so good although I am seeing some wear to the tops of the side gasket where the top panels hit it when folded back. There is another post on here from someone that's having trouble with his after 6 months, but most folks seem happy as long as it's the new G2 version. As long as you're not buying a used one, that's the cover you'll get.
It is easy to install and fits well, and is pretty darn convenient to use.

Re: G2 Bakflip installed on Crewmax w/pics and small review
Well its about 1 year now and I got to let other know of my small issue that has occured in the last month or so, I noticed alot more leaking around the hinge area into the bed when raining heavy. I found that the leaks coming from seperating seal held in place with double sided tape that seperated guess the hot summer weather taken its tool so far. I also like to report that I reported this to Julian the big cheese over at Bak industries and he quickly got back to me about working out a warranty replacement. So at this point I have sent needed information and photos into them and I should be getting a replacemnt unit soon. I will report back with more details once it has arrived and installed. I also have to say to other owner if you notice any issue be sure to give them a call back before the 1 year mark it helps with warranty, So go out and check out your units. I also have to say this top still the best idea and just works great for my needs, I am hopping the replacemnt makes it more than a year. Maybe they can do some re-design for a G3 model, that haves the the side rubber mounted in to the frame instead of held in place by double stick tape cause I still love the design of this thing compared to a hard top or soft top.
Well thats my thought for the week and thought I post up my latest experiance with the customer service of Bak Industries. They do stand behind there products even if not bought directy from them .
Re: G2 Bakflip installed on Crewmax w/pics and small review
Update... after waiting a little while for them to build and ship me a top portion only. It arrived today and as soon as I got home I decided to pop the old one out and put the new one on. 20mins. later I was done and the new top fits the same as the old maybe a more flat and cleaner. So I got to give it to Bak for standing behind there product and getting me a replacement unit pretty quick considering it was hand built to order and shipped from the other side of the country since it came from CA to the east coast. I am just hoping this unit lasts more than the last one or should I say just not leaking since the old was was holding up find just started leaking prety bad but other than that it was all good. I guess someone was way out of warrenty they could do some DIY repair on there own units. I also noticed the new top has alot fewer rivets around the edges so maybe there using a better gluing technology now.

I think before they would want to send you a replacement they would like to find out were your gettign all the leaking from but I would think they would stand behind there product liek they did for me just be sure to have proof of purchase and some pictures of were you think the problem maybe.
I started by contacting Julian (julian@bakliner.com) he seems to be the top dog over there which he emailed me back right away with contact information to a customer service rep name Lauren, which contacted me with information needed within a day or 2 to discuss the problem and what they can do to help resolve my issues.
Good luck and I am sure they will try and help you as much as possible as they did with me, they seemed to really care about there customer service.

Re: G2 Bakflip installed on Crewmax w/pics and small review
Hi, and thanks all for the great posts on tonneau covers. I decided on the Bakflip, as it seems to be the best of all worlds for me. I need the bed mostly for a secured trunk (if at all due to the HUGE backseat in the CMax) during the winter months, but need it for multiple purposes for boating "in season" here in NY. I found on an old post someone got a great deal on theirs, I want to share the deal I just got to anyone interested in purchasing. The site is stylintrucks, they offer free shipping, and if you enter coupon code JENN30, the cost of the Bakflip G2, for a Cmax w/o rails came to $600.69 with the discount. Thanks all again!
Re: G2 Bakflip installed on Crewmax w/pics and small review
I have also installed a G2 BakFlip on my Crewmax. I am attaching a couple of photos. I have a couple of observations. I think the size of the cover for the crewmax bed, based on reviews I've read has overall better quality (3 panels vs. 4). I also think that for my uses, golf clubs and camping equipment, it does an excellent job. A couple of times a year I need to buy lumber or something that hangs out and thus I really like the fold back option when I need it. I have never been too concerned about leaks. When we go camping, we put our stuff in containers in the back anyway.
Installation was a breeze if you don't have the rail system. It took me 45 minutes by myself. It fits like a glove and I think it has made my ride even more quiet.
I will review again after a few months or would be glad to answer anyones questions if they are considering.

Thats a heck of a deal!! I jumped on that one back in December. This cover is awesome. it is low profile, semi secure, easy to install, 98% water tight, and flexible to any load you may need to carry. I like mine so far.
