Re: G2 Bakflip installed on Crewmax w/pics and small review
Talked to someone today and they said they were shipping the hardware out ASAP. Can't wait. I was so looking forward to rolling out with my bakflip and storing the residents of my back seat in the bed for once. i will check out the fittings and tubing in meantime so it is ready to go when the rest of the parts arrive. Thanks

Anyone have problems with the cove leaking in the middle? Mine is now soaking the whole bed. Okay maybe not the whole bed, I can probably put some stuff around the tail gate and stay semi dry! When I fliped the cover up several of the pop rivets have sheered off and one looks like it has pulled through the panel. I saw some post on Bak Flip CS from 07 to early 08, with it being exceptional, is this still the case. My cover is just about a yr old. I think I'm, on month 10.

Look back a few posts I had posted Julians Email address. Shot him a email and he will have someone contact you about just sending you out a replacement top part probably but you will have to work out the details with them. Just have to show some form of reciept for when you purchased it and a picture or 2 of the problem areas.
I had mine replace no questioned asked with a new one and I am sure they would be more than happy to work with you to resolve the problem.
Oh definatly do this before the 1 year mark...
Re: G2 Bakflip installed on Crewmax w/pics and small review
Well I recieved the parts that were left out but the "arm stay locks with fastening knobs" were left out again. This may be due to the fact that they guy who I got on the phone acted like he was in a hurry and talked over me as i was trying to describe the parts missing. I'm sure it will be great if I ever get all the parts so that I can install it. It looks great in the garage.

Well I finally got all the parts and got it installed. Problem is since there is no drainage at the rear of the system it seems that all the water is just dumping in to the bed. Anyone else have this problem and what did you do to correct it?

At the rear of the rails there are some barbed black drain ends that you attack hose to and then lead the hose out of the holes in the bed. Are you not seeing these?
Re: G2 Bakflip installed on Crewmax w/pics and small review
Are you talking about near the cab or the tailgate? The hoses near the cab work fine but there is nothing at the tailgate end of the rails to keep all the water from dumping out at that end

Yeah I know the area your refering to but have to say I don't get to much water flowing back unless its raining buckets and can't flow it all out the front tubes. I guess if you want to make it more water proff back there you could put fill the area with silicone. Were you parkign on a slight incline maybe and the water was not able to flow out the front or are your tracks level so water flows out the front when parked ?
I know I do get a bit of water coming in the tailgate area cause there just such a large gap between the tailgate and cargo box but you could get a tailgate seal or use some similar material to help seal some of that area up so less water comes in from under the tailgate as your driving too.

When I sent the email to Julian I also cc'ed Real Truck (who I purchased from) apparently BakFlip contacted them about my replacement as I got an email today stating that they were going to replace I just had to pay shipping. Way to go BakFLip and Real Truck.

Re: G2 Bakflip installed on Crewmax w/pics and small review
I've ordered a Bak Flip G2... UPS tracking says it will be here Tuesday..... Thanks to WT, i'll be copying his install... I've already got my hands on 'other' parts to make it fit the CM bed/drain setup and fit with continued use of the rail system.... It'll be nice to have everything together before starting.... rather than to get started and then have to make a run to Lowe's... I live out in the sticks, and a run to Lowe's isn't convienent.
Re: G2 Bakflip installed on Crewmax w/pics and small review
Received my Bak Flip G2 today; installed it tonight.... took about an hour or so, but that's including unpacking, installing, drain tubes, etc... did it in my rather poorly lit garage, so pics will have to wait until daylight.... Followed WT's installation above.... didnt re-install rails yet.
WT... when I ran the smaller drain tube out the side hole (stake bed hole), i could only get it to go a few inches.... How'd you get it to go further?? (or did you?)
Re: G2 Bakflip installed on Crewmax w/pics and small review
So after having my truck cab broken into and some tools stolen, I decided it was time for a locking bed cover.
I just talked to someone at RealTrucks.com and although they can't honor the old price of $577.11, they did give me 10% of their regular price of $698. Total price was $628.20 with shipping.
