It's very similiar to the the Extang Trifecta. Differences include:
1. The seal on the Rugged is a foam, the seal on the Trifecta is rubber (like the rubber that's around your window). Personally, I prefer the rubber.
2. You have to twist or screw the rail attachments on the Rugged to get the proper fit. The Trifecta has spring loaded attachments which are quick and easy.
3. Warranty for Rugged is 7 years for vinyl, lifetime on frame. Warranty for Trifecta is 10 years on vinyl, lifetime on frame.
4. Rugged is less expensive than Trifecta.

You'll probably be happy with either one.

Thanks for the information. I think the rubber seal may be the biggest difference.

Any information the different materials for the Trifecta cover? Vinyl and Canvas?

Warn (makers of Warn winches) used to sell a three-section folding hard cover for small pickups called the Aerocover. I had one for eleven years on my '89 Toyota and was reasonably pleased with it. Its most notable headache was a big one; the operating handles were in recessed areas on the top, which would fill with water and freeze in the winter.

When I bought my Tundra in 2000, I found that Warn had sold the product line to Rugged Liner. I contacted Rugged Liner to inquire about the Aerocover for my Tundra and learned that they wouldn't be making one. They tooled up (molds cost money, y'know) for the T100, claimed that they got burned when Toyota dropped the model, and refused to risk the investment on the Tundra.

So, I have an Advance Cover on mine and have been very pleased with it.

I have a rugged trifold on my 08 crewmax and I love it. no problems at all so far. I picked it up brand new on ebay shipped for around $250 which was about $25 cheaper than I could find anywhere else.

The vinyl of the Trifecta and the vinyl of the Rugged are both good quality, no difference there. The Trifecta has a rather new canvas model but I've never seen it.
