Default Undercover Bulkhead Extender??!???

Does anybody have a photo of their Undercover Cover on with a photo of the Bulkhead extender in postion. I have a bedliner and I hate that everytime I open my Undercover wet water seeps inside. Does the bulkhead extender work? seems like cheap plastic..

Does anybody have any solutions to address this, I am sure I am not the only one

My Undercover has been great. It leaked the first rain we had when I opened up, but after the weather flap near my cab had time to sit for awhile in the heat, it has not allowed weather in again. If you are having constant issues, Undercover has a great reputation for taking care of the problems you may have............

As you know the extender tapes to the bed/liner with the top lip facing in towards the bed, their gasket then travels over top of that when opening and closing. I don't have any problems with water.
As mentioned earlier, give them a call, tell them what your problems are and I am sure that they will take care of it, you will need the serial number off of the cover when calling them.
They replaced my front bulk head extender and gasketing, no quesitons asked.

I never put the extender on and have never had a problem. I have a LineX spray liner and didn't think it would stick. I didn't really want to use self tapping screws or rivets to put it on so I just left it off. No water ever. I do however have a problem with the cover moving around. I have it mounted in the deck rail system and over time it slides back away from the cab and leaves an overhang in the back... I tightened it up again the other day and will see how it holds up.

I have had trouble with my new Undercover tonneau too. The gasket at the front does not seem wide enough to quite cover the gap when the lid hinges up and slightly backwards. I determined that my Line-X was causing part of the problem. The textured surface of the Line-X was causing the gasket to hang up when I went to close the lid.

I took a sander to the top edge of my front bed rail to sand the Line-X smoother. I then smeared a small amount of light lithium grease on the top edge of the front bed rail. The gasket seems to "slip" across that surface much easier now. It still wants to hang up on occasion, but I can usually get it to close and seal properly without much problem.

I have not heard of a "bulkhead extender" Is this a part that comes with the tonneau? I wonder if it was in the box and the dealer forgot to install it or pass it on to me?

The extender is a piece of plastic "angle iron" that sticks on the inside of the bed to make the top of the rail about an inch wider so that the gasket will not fall inside the bed and let the water run in. I didn't put mine on but have had no problems with water. Just the cover mounts sliding in the deck rail system.

Thanks for the suggestions,
I actually began using my rear window which fortunately goes down. I get in the back and pull out the gasket and then close the cover. I am still hesitant to screw in the extender. I just wonder why the gasket is not 3-4 inches longer?

Next Project Rear camera installed, found one on ebay for 315 and a guy in my area will install for 75, I guess not bad the dealer wanted 899

I wouldn't pay the guy 75 bucks to put it in, I put mine in in less than half an hour. Your truck is already pre-wired for it, it's really easy...

There's probably a DIY with pics on here, I work for a Toyota dealer so I just printed the install manual at work. There's probably only 12 or so screws including taking the panel off the inside of the tailgate. The camera plug is right next to the spare tire and the monitor is already prewired in the overhead console. There is another plug there too for the auto-dimming mirror and homelink system, I put that in while I had it apart.

I also did the factory iPod interface, it's a little more complicated. I had an aftermarket set up in my 2004 Double Cab from Peripheral. The "factory" Toyota set up is a little nicer.

Good Luck!
