    Default which tonneau cover??

I need a little advice selecting a tonneau cover.

First I'd need a hard tonneau cover for security.

Is there a hard tonneau cover that also allows for a ladder rack?

I saw a roll up cover that has a rack, but I read that it leaks. I need to keep the stuff inside the bed dry. Could anyone with a roll-up comment on the leak issue? Where do I run the canister drain lines if I go that route? Also how does this system work in cold weather? My fear is that the drain lines will freeze and canister will ice up and jam.

I was looking at the Armor lid and Undercover, but they don't look like they'd work with a rack.

I have an 06 ext cab tundra.

    Thanks

In my recent queries ref bed covers, I came across the Access roll-up made by Agricover. I liked it and rec'd several complimentary comments from other TS members that have the Access. Agricover also had a ladder rack accessory.

I ultimately opted for Retrax retractable on my '06. I dont see how a rack would fit, in addition to any kind of hard or retractable cover.

www.agricover.com is out of North Dakota, so I'd guess they've encountered freeze questions.

    Retrax also made in ND.

Some ladder racks fit into the stake pockets. You can order a Retrax with the stake pockets cut out of the rails (for an additional $25). That will do it for you!

Access Covers are vinyl and won't give you any security. Anyone can very easily cut it open with a knife. Otherwise, Access is a very good cover.

Looks like the "hauler racks" are for soft / vinyl covers. I dont know if Pete fabbed his or bought it. I'm still getting the hang of all the functions / options of TS but I think oyu can find Pete's pic gallery by clicking up top on COMMUNITY, then Member List. On far right side at that point is SEARCH MEMER button: Pistolpete [all one word]. His avatar is a pic of his dog.
Let me know if you find anything on the market that looks to fit Retrax cover.
    thx

I found Pistol Petes page and he has some nice pics on how he did it. In a nut shell, as said above he used a Retrax cover with the stake pockets cut out. Then he applied a rack system that used the stake pockets to attached to the truck. He had to use a shim to fit under the track on rack system to even out the top of the bed rails because of the Retraxs frame. It looks like a good option. Pete did a nice job!
