    Default just bought Retrax Pro

Just bought the retrax Pro. can't wait to get it. It got much better feedback compared to the regular retrax pertaining to the noise on the highway bumps ect. also much better warranty.

pics to come once I get it and get it installed

I will get some pics up shortly but so far. great cover.

most importantly for me, very quiet on the road. once in while if you go over bigger bumps with the rear window open and no radio on you will hear a slight rattle but we are talking very very minimal. nothing on the highway. I am very anal about this too.

rolls up really smooth and locks great. pretty water tight right off the bat but I do have a little water coming in from under the side rails. i think it's because the tundra bed top rails are not smooth on the top. I am going to put some marine 100% silicone in these areas today and test again as I want it water tight.

I put a hose on full blast on top and not a drop in the bed, the dual 1/2" drains handled it perfectly. I put them through the bed with some nice brass fittings and hose clamps.

The tailgate seal works great. I bought this one

Amazon.com: Extang 1140 MaxSeal Tailgate Seal: Automotive

    so far very very pleased.

i also bought this and took out the OEM liner

Truck Bed Mat, Heavy Duty Rubber

wow what a great mat, fits perfect right out of the box and is very thick and nothing slides at all. I gave up my sidewall protection but I don't haul bricks ect so it will be fine.

so I guess I completely revamped my bed set-up. it's so much better now

if anyone has any questions or wants any specific pics let me know and I will try and set them up.

one heads up. when the cover has a bunch of water on top of it you have to roll it up very slowly the first time so the water doesn't spill in the front of the bed since the front of the canister is open so you can get debris out. If you open it slow, the water will go right out the drain system then your go to go.

Glad it is working out BB. I use my small battery pack blower on the standing water and also for leaves. I had to utilize a little silicone as well.

Put some pix in your gallery so I can refer fellas to it.

    A few questions for you...

    1. Are you still pleased with your Retrax Pro?
    2. Any leaking or excessive noise on the highway?
    3. How tough was the install?
    4. How do you like the gloss black against the color of your truck?

I was quoted $1726 installed today by our local Retrax dealer!!!! I like these covers...but not for $1700+. If I get one...I've got to put it on myself.

    2. Any leaking or excessive noise on the highway? no noise on the highway at all, some bouncing on bumps, not excessive, but if your an absolute silent freak, it's not for you. This cover is not watertight..it does a good job of keeping things dry but it's not 100%. that said, there is not much that is. you get a few drips and drops here and there and a lot of it has to do with how well you do the install and how much time you spend with the sealant.
    3. How tough was the install? a basic install would be easy say a 2 or 3 out of 10, a good isntall to minmize water intrusion, marine sealant, weather stripping, ect i would put at about 7 out of 10
    4. How do you like the gloss black against the color of your truck? looks awsome

no, I don't. just search around for the lowest price coupon codes specials, ect and then take that link over the autoanything and they will beat it.

don't pay someone to install it, you'll do a better job your self if your handy at all. It's your truck, you care more and will also take the time to seal it with silicon selant like I mentioned above.

    update:

I have had some water coming in through the top between the slats and I called them just now and they took down the serial number and my info and said that shouldn't happen and we will send you a new cover!! They wanted a couple pictures to show the water spots, ect which I just sent in.

we'll see how it turns out, but so far, so good. Very nice people there. It will be really good if a new cover shows up.

    stay tuned
