Re: Hard cover for bed / soft cover / rhino bed liner... Opinions?
Until they prove me wrong, I am going to go with what they say about their warranty rather than what you say about their warranty. So far, I've had better dealing with Rhino Lining who's (pre-sales) customer service has been better than the Line-X people who've I've delt with.
Re: Hard cover for bed / soft cover / rhino bed liner... Opinions?
I just emailed Rhino corporate, here's their answer, cut and paste:
Thank you for inquiring about a Rhino Linings bed liner. Each Rhino Linings dealership is independently owned and operated. Therefore, the spraying dealer is responsible for the repair work. As long as it falls under their warranty guidelines, they should acknowledge the warranty. If you, as the customer is unable to or does not wish to go to the original spraying dealer, the owner of the original spraying dealership should make arrangements for another dealer to do the repair work, however he/she is under no obligation to do so.
Rhino Linings USA will only step in to help facilitate warranty repairs when the original spraying dealership is closed. A Rhino Linings bed liner is sprayed up to ¼” thick on the bottom of the bed and up to an 1/8” on the interior side walls.
Please find your closest dealership be visiting www.rhinolinings.com or if you wish please provide us with your zip code and city and state in which you live and I would be happy to locate your nearest dealer.

Microxot, I've PM'ed 123Gone many times and have picked his brain to death before I finally bought my Line-X on 04/24/06. There were two things that sold me on Line-X versus Rhinolinings (Rhinoliner). One, was 123Gone's help and honesty.
He never sold his product outright, but let his product knowledge back up the product he sells. He was willing to give me a very close price to what I paid for my work and product. He knows his stuff and I'll back him up on his product any day.
The second thing that sold me on Line-X is their NATIONWIDE warranty. Al, or Al's Line-X of Tucson said if I go to any Line-X dealer they'd fix the damage in my bed from regular use. I had him do my bumper guard, but as 123Gone explained to me via PM, doing accessories like that is warranteed by the shop who did the work.
I wholeheartedly recommend Line-X over Rhinolinings. The Rhinolinings place was only three miles from my house, yet I drove 20 miles across town to have it Line-X'ed. I believe in the product that much.

Re: Hard cover for bed / soft cover / rhino bed liner... Opinions?
I posted this in another posting, but here are my thoughts on the Snuglid hard tonneau covers.
BTW I have the bed rug, kind of wish I had the spray on lining, but it all depends on what you use your bed for. So keep that in mind - if you're hauling your dirt bikes, I don't recommend getting the bed rug, but then again mine doesn't absorb any of the oil leaks - if any.
A. If you plan on using your bed, forget it with a Snuglid bed lid. It's heavy and pretty akward to attempt to take off by yourself. You will always - most usually - have to have someone help you take this sucker off to use your bed lid. And because of all of the hassle, trust me, you'll use your bed lid less and less.
B. Unsafe. Why, you may ask. Well, remember it's pretty heavy, and if it drops or flies off, yes, I said flies off, you will get hurt and get damage on your truck. This happened to us when we went to Mammoth Mountain during our annual Turkey day week trip. It was very windy, and although my hubby locked my lid, not two minutes after he walks in to the trailer, we hear a loud boom. The wind PICKED the Snuglid up from the underneath where the lid lies on the be siding and ripped the sucker OUT of its sockets and hinges. It broke my back window, which was very expensive to replace (insurance paid for it, but still it was $580 some odd dollars). It dented my truck bed, made some damage to our travel trailer (punched a hole on the outside siding, cracked the front window barrier, cut our gas lines and the lid hit so hard that it cracked the interior wall as well.
Think of other potential dangers that could lie by getting this type of bed lid.
Don't get me wrong, they look very nice, and when I was looking for my truck, I wanted to make sure it had the Snuglid tonneau cover knowing how pricey these can get. However, after having it for awhile, it had a lot more downs than ups. For instance, if you go play in the snow a lot or live in snow, getting the lid to open without trying to brush off some of the snow, or not able to brush off some of the snow makes it very hard to open the lid up.
I ended up giving away my old one to an old co-worker who til this day cannot pronounce my name right, that bugger...
What do I suggest you get? I ended up getting the Pace Edwards retractable bed lid. I LOVE this lid so far. No chance of wind picking it up, its completely flush with your bed lid. We can make use of my bed now as well. Put the bikes in there, throw the new TV in the back, transport furniture, etc...ALL easier than the Snuglid. It's a little more pricey than the Snuglid (depends on which brand you get), but well worth it. If I had $, I would have gotten the one w/ a remote, but that's just cause I'm lazy and it would've been cool to have that feature, to have
Not sure where you live, but the place I went to, American Campers, is a great place. It's in Stanton, CA (So Cal). A LOT of people from out of town come here, mostly because they will match other prices if they can. The site where I found my Pace Edwards had it for close to $900, and @ American Campers, they had it for I think it was $1,150. I called there and spoke to a gent named Jerry and he did some research and honored their price for me. Very cool.
Re: Hard cover for bed / soft cover / rhino bed liner... Opinions?
I have a 2004 tundra and i feel that it is worth the money for the spray in liners. I Also had it in my 2000 tacoma there wasn't anything i hauled in the bed that didn't even come close to messing it up. Just my opinion!!!!!!! If i ever bought a truck i would do it all over again.

You may be right, but I have a problem with people who mudsling. It is one thing to spout the greatness of something you sell (actually, the product should sell itself), it is another to trash talk the competition to try and make your product look better. People who do that reminds me of politicians and used care salesmen.
And I don't need to see pictures of a competitor's product cause I know that it is going to be shown bad as possible.
It does sound like Line-X is a good product (from what the owners on here are saying which I credit much more than salepeople), and maybe it is better than Rhino, but it also matters (to me) on how it is being sold. I am not not just purchasing a product, but also a service and warranty which requires trust in the product that it will be installed correctly and reassurance that help will be there down the road if needed. For me, that is built on friends recommendations and interaction between myself and the representative of the product. I won't go back to the Line-X in Lewisville because of the pompus *$$h(*# who talked down to me and a friend who went in there asking for info on bedliners. If your going to treat me like I am unimportant now, then I don't want to think how I'll be treated after you have my money.
I had Rhino lining installed because I've had several friends who have had it and it looked great for years, It's properties were better suited for my needs, I had better interaction with the dealer in Denton than I did with the Line-X dealer in Lewisville and the price was better ($200 less). I've only had the product for 6 months and it still looks new. I've only had 2 issues so far - A little overspray in the tailgate workings that I easily cleaned out, and they oversprayed the drain gaskets in the bed that I will take back and have them correct. But I don't think that either of these is something that has never happened with the competition.
If I have a problem down the road and decide to go with something different (can you pull spray-in linings out? Never thought about it until I saw a comment from 123Gone) I'll look around, but I won't trust people with bad customer service (i.e. trash talking, pompus, rude, etc).
Re: Hard cover for bed / soft cover / rhino bed liner... Opinions?
If you were shopping for a truck, there's all sorts of resources to use that would provide you with good information, such as auto magazines, TV shows, manufacturer info, etc.
What resources are available to research bedliners? There are no magazines, TV shows, and maybe limited manufacturer info. That's where I like to think that I fill in the gap. I like to think that I provide useful and factual information to those who wish to "do their homework". I have always said to buy whatever makes you happy.
Bedliners, bedliner warranties, and bedliner companies all differ. I've spent hours upon hours researching these things and I'm more than happy to share my information with you. Fortunately, my formal education and business background allows me to understand some things that others in the business may not. Some may interpret my comments as pushing LINE-X just because I'm a LINE-X dealer, but that's really NOT my intention.
Honestly, Microxot, I'm glad your happy with your purchase and if you have any questions about your bedliner (or other accessories), I'll be glad to help you!
Re: Hard cover for bed / soft cover / rhino bed liner... Opinions?
I just use a rubber contour fit mat. I use a soft tonuea cover made by ACCESS. It just rolls open & closed in a few 2nds. No stupid snaps. Just roll it open for bulky items to carry etc. Vel Crown seals the sides but don't use it unless I go in the highway. I never had anyone take anything out of the bed. I don't carry much worth much. Once the cover is rolled up you can tie it with the 2 straps that come with it or just leave it. When closed it seals out the rain very well. I believe there is a web sight for Access. Access Distribution - Home. Do keep your tail gate locked as they do steal them. Very expensive to replace, like $2400 bucks or so. The Access touneau cover also has simple thumb adjustments to tighten up or loosen the cover. Have mine 6 years & its still perfect. I have a 2000 Tundra, single cab, V-6 & I'm happy with it. Its a great work truck, carry fire wood, chase cows thru pastures, tow my camper to Florida & EVERYTHING. Its beat up & scratched up just perfectly so I no longer have to worry about it. I also went with an Undercover hard top tonneau cover like the previous poster. It comes off very easy and is light (60 lbs) so one person can handle it, also locks well and makes me feel secure. Only problem is that I believe it only comes in black. The same cover is also sold under the Versacover name.
I went with a hard toyota bedliner. I think it gives you the best bed protection if you are throwing heavy objects (bricks) into the truck, cheapest also. Plus things slide out of the bed for unloading easily (lumber).
Finally to stop things from sliding around when I don't want them to (groceries) I bought a rubber bed mat.
Just my .02.
Its funny, I have a Line-X, and I love the fact that things Don't slide.
My vote is for Line-X, I'm going to have it installed in every truck I ever buy, unless something better comes along.
