TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "seat belt chime", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Where do I go to get the last 2 minutes of my life back.
Amazing. The only thing I can think of that is worse than listening to the the "you should have done a search" people is the "wear your seatbelt" people.
There. If there's someone on this thread that I haven't insulted, I'm sorry to have left you out.

Buy your truck outside of the Gulf States Toyota monopoly if you don't want to compromise.
Mine dose not go off untill I hit 15MPH so if you're going 5MPH you should be fine.

Here here. Couldn't agree with you more about non-value-added fill from those people. The man asked a simple question and expected a simple answer, detached from any holier-than-thou emotion or caffine-induced impatience. Just the facts, folks.
At this point there hasn't been word from any TS posters having any success over-riding the system, for whatever reason. But there are some ingenious folks around. In the meanwhile you'll probably have to live with it as part of owning a 2007 Tundra.

I am a member of other boards. On one I am one of the first ones on there so I've watched it grow. Newbees come by and ask an old question, we try to help them out even though we've heard the question a hundred times. They get their answer and go on their way. It just makes it easier for everyone.
Replys like, "use the search button" are pretty condescending and very discouraging for a new person. If you are going to make posts like that, just don't post.
That other thread was pretty much 9 pages of children fighting and preaching about seatbelt safety. New threads wouldn't be started if all the BS was cut out of that thread.
I guess that is the main reason I dont subscribe to this site. Too much clutter that the mods could clean up. I am too lazy to read what benifits a subscription gives you. Can someone please clue me in.....or I guess I should do a search so 7 people don't tell me to search before posting.....and here I go hijjacking this nice thread.....ooops.

I totally agree - just answer the question, read to learn or go to another thread --- maybe go take some prosac!
This worked for my 07 FJ Cruiser. I took the FJ hunting and even though it isn't the safest thing in the world to ride with no seatbelt, I took the risk. It would have sucked to miss the huge buck that crossed the road on the way back to camp just because I couldn't get out of the seatbelt. (ended up shooting a fork-horn anyway)
