Default no lights are on stupid warning????

This new Tundra is the first Toyota I have ever owned. I am a bit supprised there is no ding ding if the lights are left on. I will admit I have not scoured the owners manual for information on this, but was wondering if this is common on Toyota?

it may be because the lights shut off on their own after a minute or so. Mine do anyway

The lights have auto shut off. So it doesn't matter if you leave them on. Hence, no ding ding to warn the driver, since they will shut off in time.

They also shut off if you hit the Lock button on the keychain twice

Ha... Funny how I noticed this also. Just picked up my truck last night but was kind of wondering about this when I came today to do some reading...

I think I would still prefer a little ding. I would trade half my seat belt dings for a "lights are on " ding.

So far, I'm impressed with the auto headlight feature. The system seems to be about right when deciding when to turn headlights on/off.

I just leave the headlights set to auto all the time now & don't worry about it. Using the dash-mounted setup, I turned the timeout to 0 seconds. Now, kill the truck & lights go off - one less thing to remember.

I did the same and changed my setting to 0 so they shut off as soon as the door is opened. I like how you can adjust several features that way.
