I am looking to buy a 5.7 DC this month so I can get the $3000 cash back. The only problem is that all the trucks coming in this month have the tow mirrors. I want the powered heated outside mirrors. Can the dealer swap out the mirrors at port or are the tow mirrors added at the factory? What are my options? I am thinking about just getting the truck with the tow mirrors and learn to like them. I don't want to make a $3000 mistake.

they are installed at the factory. just try them and swap them later if you dont like them. there are plenty of people that would like to swap for tow mirrors. i never used tow mirrors before but now that i am use to them, i like them.

My tow mirrors are powered and heated from the factory. If you're talking about the power folding option on the Limited models, I advise you to buy it configured that way from the factory because the power folding portion has it's own wiring and button on door to fold the mirrors in.

Worst case you are out about $500 to order the regular heated power mirrors and install them yourself. You can probably find someone that wants to swap for you tow mirrors though.

I do not know that much about different mirrors but I had tow mirrors and traded them as soon as I could. I got regular black mirrors no heat. I think the only small mirrors with heat are on the limited. with those you would not have the power fold button in your truck as mentioned above. I have seen on another post that a wireing harness can run 250 bucks for each door. The up side is if you have to get your truck with tow mirrors there are guys lined up to trade with you.

some SR5s do come with the power heated sport mirrors

Roll Tide Waynebake. I guess I am stuck with the tow mirrors. I can order a truck but the dealer says it will take 45-60 days. The rebate will end on 7/2/07

I got my tundra with the tow mirrors and I thought I wouldn't like them. Too big and bulky. Wrong! They are great! I don't do much towing (yet) but they let you see everything and when you do tow they extend out to let you see better. Once you try them you'll probably like them.

I just (last monday) picked up my Crew Max SR5, it had the little mirrors. I paid the dealer to remove them and put on the tow mirrors, if you want a set of power (not folding) smaller mirrors to replace your tow mirrors i can get you in touch with my dealer... I know for a fact they have a set sitting around

.357SIG, I assume the wiring harness was the same. I have inquired at my dealer about trading out the tow mirrors for the small mirrors.

What did you pay to swap out little mirrors for tow mirrors?
