The check engine light came on in mine at 900 miles. Took it to local dealer and they said that they thought that it had the wrong kind of oil in it. Told me to come back if it came on again and they would change the oil. I really don't think that they wanted to do anything since we didn't buy it from there. That was 2 months ago and now I am at 2200 miles and it hasn't come back on.

I got the same Maintanice light on my 2006 Trd double cab. It was the gas cap on mine, it wasnt all the way tight. I always make sure the cap is tight on my new 2007!

if the oxygen sensor was disconected then the light would have went on right away ... not later maybe the dealer just reset it and didnt say anything ...

This will get rid of the light but it is still stored on the ECU. Which won't matter to most people but if you're trying to get around emissions you have to have a code reader delete it.

Its not about getting rid of the "light",its to prove an "ACTUAL" issue(s) exsist once the light returns.
My brothers GM truck has 3 diffent codes that fail to verify, their just glitchs and as far as anyone knows their not mechanically threatenning.

Just remove the gauge face and put a small piece of black tape over the icon, its less evasive.

most auto parts stores Pep Boys etc have code readers, and will do it for free. Or, www.scangueage.com, great item that works well, and for $129 (thats what i paid a couple of years ago) it is a great gadget to have.

Yes we have a charcoal vapor canister. My check engine light came on and stayed on. Had it fixed today under warranty. The canister had water in it but they could not explain why it happened. Seven error codes all pointed to the vapor canister.
