TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "How Good Is Toyota At Timing Their Delivery?", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
So I ordered my truck...and Im waiting. Got some time ahead of me...Just kind of curious as to how accurate they usually are with when the truck will be in.. Any input?
If you just placed the order and all you have is a build week, then you can figure about 2 weeks after that week. Sometime before then, the dealer should get an ETA window of about 10-12 days. As the time gets closer the window is usually narrowed to about 7 days. It is very rare for them to miss the window of time.

Were three weeks late on mine. Got a new call w/ a new date ever 3 or 4 days for 3 weeks. They said that it had nothing to do w/ toyota and the delay was casued by the RR. Who knows?
Hmm...Its sounding like mixed opinons. The only reason I ask is because My dea will expire if it is 2 weeks more than they told me.. And Im still about 7 weeks out
I'm on pins and needles also because I have to drive 10 hours to Las Cruces to pick it up. That means I can only go this weekend because I took a couple of days off work. The truck was built at the week of Memorial Day so it's been 2 full weeks. I'm fairly confident, though.

Nope. Trucks seem to arrive in the GST region with one or two factory options and a bunch of port options. They will order one for you if you ask them to but they act like they are doing you a favor. No thanks. I don't need it.
I found a friendly dealer out in Las Cruces, NM near El Paso, TX where I travel frequently to see family. I was emailed a nice quote/contract after I picked a loaded configuration common to that region. Got the exact exterior and interior color I wanted, placed a deposit, and waited patiently. I'm paying under $40K for the configuration below which I think is a pretty good deal.
Now, 0% financing for 60 months means I will be paying $667 per month to own a loaded CrewMax.

So, how are you planning to deal with the break-in issue. We're supposed to vary the speed. I'll actually be driving on rural 2-4 lane roads so I think there will be enough acceleration to properly break it in on the way back.

I will be on freeways but with traffic in some metro areas and different grades .. as long as i don't use the cruise control too much it hsould be fine .. pass some cars, lay back, etc.
My CrewMax has arrived at the dealership in Las Cruces, NM. The build date (week) was May 28. It probably went to the "port" in Denver, had practically nothing installed, and showed up the 18th or 19th when my salesperson probably has her days off.
The CrewMax is coming in exactly as they told me it would. No port options except for floor mats and spare tire lock. It will arrive with a bedliner, first aid kit, and front license bracket that aren't attached yet so they offered that to me at cost. However, I have a Bedrug and license plate bracket that I bought already online.
I'll have it on Friday. 0% APR for 60 months is a very nice surprise. I had given up on any incentives on the CrewMax after June 4 came and went. If you're anywhere near Las Cruces, NM, contact Raenee at the internet sales dept of Las Cruces Toyota.
I could have tried to work a deal here in Austin for a special GST truck with no port options but I don't need that kind of hassle. I placed my order at a time when they weren't making any deals here, anyway. So, Gulf States Toyota - I'll be sure to slow down and wave at every dealership I pass by on the way back. Thanks for making me go The Extra Mile to find what I wanted.
