Default Line-x UV protection: yes or no?

I pick up my crewmax tomorrow, and plan to get leather and line-x installed immediately.

Is the UV protection worth it? It's supposed to prevent sun fading down the road. I have a $25 off coupon for the UV protection, so it'd come to $75 extra. Would you spend an additional $75 for this???

Thanks,
Gary

Sounds like a big waste of money to me, unless you're building a show truck.

I'd pass for that amount of cheese same effect as grabbing an old scrub brush and some 303 if you are that worried about fading.

I put it on when I was wash my bed out once every month or two. Good stuff don't use too much.

Pretty sure you can always go back and get the line-x xtra 'top coat' applied if heavy fading sets in down the road. Don't hold me to that but I thought I read that in a line-x thread somewhere on TS.

Thanks guys. I'll probably end up passing on it, unless someone else comes up with a compelling reason why I should have it.

I'm trying to recall who it was, but there is someone on this forum that does line-x for a living. He seemed to be very knowledgeable, and would love to hear his opinion. Anyone know who I'm talking about? I'll try to find him by looking through older threads...

Armour All or Just Once have UV inhibitors in the solution. Its like sun screen for polymers. Keep a good coat wax on the paint and Armour All (or equivalent) on the liner and you'll be good to go.
