Default Reverse Light Mod!

Hey guys hows it going. So I did the reverse light mod on my Tundra and it is awesome. Went from stock 16W bulbs to 50W bulbs. Night and day difference... well just at night though! I do not know how to post all the pics I took on here so if someone could help me out that would be cool. I am in the process of making a "How To" for anyone else who is interested. I have pics of everything. It cost $20 for the 2 bulbs.

On another note... I bought my 07 RCSB Tundra last night! Its slate with the 5.7, sport appearance package. I will post some pics later tonight. Just wanted to thank everyone who helped me out in picking out this truck, with the pricing and anything else. Much appreciated. So far everyone on this forum has been very helpful and all around awesome.

Look forward to future "How To's" from me. I will be getting the TRD Big Brake kit in a couple months, along with 20's or 22's. Rear sway bar will be here Friday and HID Low's, Fogs and 100W Highs will be here tomorrow. I have lots of plans for this truck!

I'm glad you got your truck. Post some pics of that Slate. I painted the fake intake on my truck Super White also. I bought a couple of touch up paint from the dealer and brush painted it. It matches the rest of the truck now. It also made the front cleaner and smoother. The nose doesn't look big now.
Also, do you have a skid plate underneath the engine? Mine doesn't have one. I was just checking out the oil filter and the oil pan drain this weekend. Everything on the bottom is exposed. One more thing, if you find that piezo beeper(remote lock/unlock beeper) pls let me know. I need to muffle it a little bit. Too loud in the morning. Looks like you've spent $$$$$ on mods. I haven't done any mods yet. Thanks in advance.

I am sure all states might be different, but WI statutes say: (4) BACK?UP LAMPS. (a) Any motor vehicle may be equipped with not more than 2 back-up lamps which shall be so directed as to project a white or amber light illuminating the roadway to the rear of such vehicle for a distance not to exceed 75 feet.

Is there any concern with the current draw reference switching to the larger bulbs?

I've replaced the 1156 bulbs fer backing up in my T-100 with 50W bulbs and haven had any problems. I don't back up the truck fer that long. No blown fuses. No fogging or melting of the lens. Makes fer some good light projection when backing up! I got mine off of ebay fer about $30 shipped fer the pair but someone told me that AutoZone now carries them fer about $5 each? Mine were the halogen type and has the longer hot dog shaped tube with heavy duty filament vs the balloon shaped bulb.

I did notice that my signal lights are using the same 1156 bulbs...been thinking of changing those out but I didn't want to burn up the signal relay...

The bulbs needed to be replaced are 921s, not 1156. I was reading you could take the base off the 885 or 886 and make them fit, And from what I've read, they haven't damaged the housing, lens, or the wiring of the people who have done it.

Anyone try replacing the bulbs (stop, rev. and turn sig.) with bright LEDs?

How about something like these:

eBay Motors: 921 15-LED Lights White 2-Bulbs Running/Wedges Base New (item 170207436103 end time Apr-05-08 13:15:40 PDT)
eBay Motors: 2pcs 168 194 912 921 25 SMD LED (HID White) Wedge Bulb (item 200212634044 end time Apr-07-08 20:46:00 PDT)
eBay Motors: 2 WHITE SMT 18 LED LIGHT BULBS 917 918 920 921 922 923 (item 280214715317 end time Apr-09-08 19:10:13 PDT)

And for the bed lights:
eBay Motors: 2 HID WHITE 36 LED TRUCK BED CARGO LIGHT BULBS 906 921 (item 280214709584 end time Apr-09-08 18:46:22 PDT)

I could not find any 886 bulbs. I am not too keen on cutting up bulbs to make them fit. Any other options besides secondary back-up lights?
