Just so you understand, you will only get better mpg until the oil is warmed up, then it becomes 20w and is the same as far as viscosity and load on the motor/engine.

In our area, I also stick with the 0w20, it never gets real hot here, so the oil stays cooler and it's better on the motor/engine during start up.

That's a good deal! Last week I paid $3.85/qt. for 8 quarts of the Toyota 0W-20 and about $5 for the filter element from my local dealer. Not quite the deal you got but I was more than satisfied....then the Parts guy ruined it for me by quoting me $39.95 for the SST (filter wrench)! No I didn't buy it, I was just curious (I already had the $3.99 Pep Boys model at home).

BTW, for any of you who are wondering whether or not you can change your own oil, go for it! It took me about 1 hour. Next time it should take less than 30 minutes now that I know how the TRD skid plate comes off.

Could you elaborate on the filter wrench from Pep Boys?

Thanks,
Carl

Go to any auto parts store and look for a straight 65mm/14 flute oil filter wrench. Don't buy a 65/67 or any others that are stepped or they will spin when you try to use them. Another suggestion: invest in a 3 gallon plastic pail to drain the oil into....it's much taller than the standard drain pans and sits much closer to the drain port on your oil pan so it will do a better job of keeping the oil from splashing when you drain it. Good luck.
