WHY are you being so immature and angry about an inane rental car? As long as it runs and does what you need it to do (have a bed if its a truck) why be upset as to what damn brand it is? I've had rentals for when I had my S-10 in the shop, and when I've had my Ridgeline in the shop. The rentals for the S-10 repairs were Neons while I had a BASE and crappy Saturn Ion for a rental when I had my new Ridgeline in for three days. The S-10 went through valve assemblies at 3000 mile intervals on the spot. The third one they put in was perfectly timed as not too much later afterwards I sold it and got my Tundra.
Honestly, even though I LOVE to bash on the domestics I don't give a flying poop what they put me for a rental in as long as they get me a rental quickly and it can get me back and forth to work and around town.
For me, all I want in a service department is good to excellent customer service and competent repair and body (where applicable) work. What pisses me off more then getting a "non-Toyota" rental is trying to get them to give me a rental or SOMETHING so I don't have to wait while they "fix it." Or, even worse, having to go back for the SAME issue continuously like I had with my S-10's transmission.
Dude, ease up and calm the hell down.
Yeah, I am sure you would be just fine with loosing your brand new truck for multiple days! Regardless, it stinks that his truck broke down but it does happen and I am sure it would be frustrating for anyone. Give the guy a break, and yeah, if my 40K truck broke down and they gave me a 900 dollar beater I would be pissed off as well! At least give the guy a truck. Again, if he bought a $6000 10 year old truck I could understand getting a Taurus, however, things change when you buy a $40K truck, you also buy service!

This comment is completely uncalled for. There is no reason to dredged up a 3 week old post and call the member "immature". We call this type of behaviour baiting and it is not acceptable on this site. As stated in the thread posts with no purpose but to bash the Tundra we are taking a zero tolerance policy regarding rule violations and site abuse.

When I wrote the post, I was upset about losing my truck for potentially 3-4 weeks, as I was told by toyota. So, as I found this great Forum, others told me Toyota put them in nice loaner Toyota vehicles. Obviously, I wanted the same nice treatment. Yeah, I got used to the Taurus, but it's not a Toyota. Lastly, the Taurus can't pull my trailer, which my family had plans to go camping the weekend after the truck took a dive. I asked for another truck from TMCA, which they said no. I am OK now. Just a rough spot with my Tundra I guess.

It must be nice to own a perfect Tundra. "Check out my pics" needs to end soon too. Or how about, "Look what I can Tow". Where does it end. Don't visit threads your not interested in.

Bigdave is right if you have a perfict truck I am verry happy for you, but some have problems and like to ck. out other owners with similar problems, you guys with perfect trucks will be on these forums the first time you think something is wrong looking for info, so be glad you can get this info.

I'm sorry for snapping at you, and I appreciate you pointing that out. It was your truck that took a nose dive with the transmission going out. I hate to see anyone with this problem and it is shocking to see, yet it isn't. When the old body style Tundra was released there were some transmission problems with it along with brake issues.
Man, they put you in a Taurus?!? Damn, no wonder you were upset. My Mom had a 1994 Taurus that had transmission problems and my first car a 1988 Taurus with transmission problems. My 2001 S-10 had valve assemblies go out in my transmission and had a new one put in at 9000 miles. Yeah, it sucks not being able to drive your own vehicle even if that vehicle was a lemon such as my S-10.
As for tough spots I've had a few with my Ridgeline but they weren't MAJOR mechanical problems like you've had. I had my Ridgeline in the shop for three days while they fixed a chipped/peeling spot on my rear bumper where it meets the quarter panel. I was in as-cheap-as-it-comes Saturn Ion and it sucked balls. It made me very thankful and lucky to have my Ridgeline.
Good dealerships are few and far between, but if you find one, stick with them. Same goes for independent shops.
As for the sudden crack-down...
ABOUT F'N TIME, GUYS! THANK YOU! Yes, I made an out of line comment on an old post within a thread that went off-topic a few times? Uh, I think there's something wrong with that picture that should be looked into. But, even so, keep up the good work.

No sweat. Your Ridgeline is nice. I thought about the RIdgeline, but needed more towing capacity. If it wasn't for the towing needs, the Ridgeline would have been on my radar. Take care.

I too am on my 2nd Transmission! Apparently it is only the first ones out. Mine had a build date of March and that is where all the problems lie. I had a clunk from day one and was told by 2 dealerships that is was normal but i wouldn't accept that. Then it would shutter between 30 and 40. That was the transmission but the clunking was the 2 piece driveshaft center bearing trying to center itself at start up. A new driveshaft and it is fun to drive again. Toyota and my dealership couldn't have been nicer.
