What I meant was the Ford rental they put you in. Mine was in the shop though.....a new left rear quarter panel after I found it smashed-in in a parking lot at the beach!
Sun Toyota started the warranty deal and my dealer followed suit shortly thereafter. Hope I never use it but its a good piece of mind knowing its there.
Fireguy, sorry, I thought you were referring to yourself. My bad. Welcome to the forum. Were you serious when you said FLorida dealers give lifetime warranties on Tundra powertrains? I have never heard of such a thing.

Yeah this is my third Tundra only because I'm ragging them out. My 01 did start making a funny noise in the tranie before I traded it in and my 05 was fine until the 07 came out. When I heard about the warranty I was skeptical but to my delight it was true. I don't blame you for doubting me at first because I diddn't believe it either.
that's crazy. Glad you were able to find this "Gem" of a deal. Hopefully you will have a great 07 ownership experience. Only a small amount of us who are having problems with trannys I guess.

My truck Tranny went out at about 300 miles. The dealership and Toyota are saying that they got a bad batch of torque converters from thier supplier. I'm getting mine back today. Hopefully it will be fixed.

Just curious... what is the build date of your truck?
I too, am having my transmission replaced by the dealer. Started having vibrations between 30-40 mph. The truck only had 200 miles on it when the vibs started. transmission arrived at the dealer this morning, dropped my truck off with the hope of picking it up Monday or tuesday.
Built in Tx, 06/07.
My dealer insists that this is the first transmission problem he's seen in this area.
Hope that all these replacement trannys work out for all of us.
I am suprised some of you that have had this unfortunate failure with practically brand new trucks (< 1000 miles) havent fought for a replacement new Tundra. That kind of major drivetrain failure on what I will call a brand new truck warrants something like a new vehicle. A vehicle IMO is no longer new when a mechanic has to gut the drivetrain and disturb that which was put together with computerized machinery at the factory. Its scary, especially with me having just bought a new Tundra 3 days ago. A friend of mines sister bought a new 4 runner and when the engine mysteriously failed before the first oil change the dealer traded her out of it for another new 4Runner with no losses financially to her.

I investiged this option also and demanded it. I was told the only way to have Toyota consider this was through arbitration, which I was told takes up to 2 months, and then it is still at Toyota's discretion. It's not that easy. I settled for a truck payment and some coupons for Toyota accessories. I am looking at 3/4 ton diesels now. I just think my towing needs are beyond the Tundras long term offering for me. The Tundra is a great truck, and I would still come back to it if I though a 1/2 ton was good enough for my duties.

It sounds like Fog and I have the same problem. At about 30 - 40 mph it feels like your going over rumble strips, also I felt it when my tranny down shifted going up hill and around tight turns. My truck, like Fog's, was built in Texas 06/07. My truck also was the first that the dealer has seen with this problem but 3 days after I brought in my truck another customer brought in thier truck for the same problem. I got my truck back today and it feels like a totally different truck than it did before, even during my test drive. I tried to get as much info as I could about the faulty torque converter issue that my dealer told me about but they said Toyota is being tight lipped out it.

Do any of you guys have lifts or larger tires? I believe I have the same problem. My vibration is most noticeable between 20-22 mph, and tight turns. I do have vibes at higher speeds, but less noticeable. My truck is also a Texas 06/07 build.
I have the ReadyLift installed and 35" Toyo tires......should I remove the mods before taking the truck in?
