Do any of you guys have lifts or larger tires? I believe I have the same problem. My vibration is most noticeable between 20-22 mph, and tight turns. I do have vibes at higher speeds, but less noticeable. My truck is also a Texas 06/07 build.
I have the ReadyLift installed and 35" Toyo tires......should I remove the mods before taking the truck in?
They can tell a lot with their .. "Computer Codes". They spotted mine right away with the computer, before they even took it for a test drive.
However .. if your computer codes are normal .. then I would take the mods off if they request you to do that.
I had the same shutter between 30 to 40 mph a rebuilt tranny was sent by mistake and it was worse than the org. tranny, a new one was ordered and so far it seems ok, there is deff. some type of problem , the comp. showed nothing when hooked to my org. tranny , but what scares me is this tranny has been out maby 6-7 months and they already have rebuilt ones , so have many have gone bad and how many will go bad later, on some it may take longer than others. I am going to call TMAC monday and try to get an extended warranty on the power train.
I just bought mine in late May and suddenly now I'm experiencing slippage from my Tundra at 3000 miles, I'm going to take it in this week and find out what's going on with it.
Fireguy, sorry, I thought you were referring to yourself. My bad. Welcome to the forum. Were you serious when you said FLorida dealers give lifetime warranties on Tundra powertrains? I have never heard of such a thing.
Yes, its not done through Toyota but through a 3rd party warranty provider but it is good nation wide. All the Tampa metro area dealers are offering it.
I am curious for those of you that have had the trannys replaced, can you describe how you knew there was something wrong with your tranny? What were the signs and symptoms?
Alaskacub the first time I notice it I thought I had run over some gravel or something on the road but notice road was clear, from then on I really paid attention and notice everytime I got around 30 mph it started , the slower you take off the easier it is to notice , if you have a lead foot you may never feel it, if feels like you are hitting the wakeup groves they cut on the interstate shoulder.
I had some vibration while towing, then one day out of the blue, all my dash lights started going off, the tranny started shifting all over the place, then would not shift past 4th. It started slipping at take off also, so I limped it to the dealer. The rest is history, on tranny #2.

My new 07 tundra 5.7 just ate the transmission with less than 5000 miles on the vehicle. My truck is sitting at the dealer, while Toyota scratches its head. Anyone else hear of this or experience this? I didn't abuse or offroad my vehicle. It just happened while I was driving on the freeway without warning. The tranny started shifting all over the place, all the dash lights started going off like wildfire, and then I couldn't get it out of 4th. Toyota has now told me the tranny is bad and needs to be replaced. the trannys are backordered and they want to see my tranny to see what the deal is. they also said I am the sixth 5.7 this has happened to in June.
I have an '07 tundra 5.7, the tranny was leaking from the first few weeks, they put a remanufactured tranny in at 3Kmiles, now it is not shifting right, it has already been in shop for 14days, I'm ready for Toyota to eat the truck. Toyota refuses to install a new tranny(not remanufactured). I'm ready to contact an attorney. I've been a loyal Toyota fan for over 20yrs, but Toyota is not standing behind this one.
I have a the '07 2WD, 5.7, my tranny was leaking fluid, they could not find out where it was leaking from. toyota finally put a remanufactured tranny in, now it is shifting weird, way too much downshifting and sometimes I have delayed engagement with a hard engagement when it does engage. Toyota refuses to install a new tranny, saying only remanufactured are available, I refuse to accept a remanufactured tranny in a new truck. I have been a loyal toy fan for many years, but toyota is not standing behind this truck. Toyota won't buy back or trade me out of it. Guess I'm stuck with it or trade it and loose my shirt.

Bandittoyota they put a rebuilt tranny in mine also but in had a shutter worst than the org. tranny , then they ordered a new tranny and so far so good , tech said rebuilt was sent by mistake so you should pressur them ,for a new one.
Sun Toyota started the warranty deal and my dealer followed suit shortly thereafter. Hope I never use it but its a good piece of mind knowing its there.
I purchased my Tundra 4x4 on 7/15/07 from Sun Toyota! Are you saying they owe me a warranty?
