Woohoo BigDave! Hope they are not jerkin you around any more. Good luck and keep us "believers" posted. Great way to start a thread...love the ice cream truck reference!
Glad to hear both of you will soon be or are already back on the road. One thing I think I have noticed about the problems some have had with either the cam or the tranny, it appears they go in a short period of time, i.e. 500 miles or so.
While I would not stand on it when new, I would drive it like anything else. If it is going to break, it will break either way. Let us know how it goes.
I noticed some went out early too, but mine went out after 4700 miles. If anyone finds out anything about the reason behind the trannys dying, please post the link.
Hey, Tundra Support (TS), thank you for re-opening this thread. Lots of great people here!!!
oops, my bad. DavidT's tranny thread got shut down, and mine dissapeared. I guess this one didn't get closed. Man, these threads get a little confusing. ANyways, thanks TS anyways for your support.
Toyota Corporate, I noticed you posted a company reponse to camshaft failures on the "Camshaft failures" thread. ANy chance you can do the same for the transmission problems on this thread, if you are out there????
Hey Dave, it looks like the Mods are just trying to keep all the tranny posts in one thread. Cleans everything up a bit. Your posts from last night are in this thread a bit further up.

Mod should just create master threads like the intros at the top of the page for the major issues (tranny, crank, bounce, etc). Would simplify things. The search on this forum is not that great in separating 07 info from gen1 Tundras.
Will.

That would be easier. Too many threads with a lot of good stuff, but a lot of searching.
Not to go off-topic, but in this and other threads, there were a number of people proclaiming transmission problems, and so far all I see in response to going through the list of questions to help us look at the problem with more detail is BigDave's response. Is nobody else going to add their info? Maybe there are just a lot of "fakers" out there. BigDave, I hope your 2nd trans works out well for you... let us know how it goes!

i had a problem with my tundra .... and some people were rude so i never went back in the thread and wrote what ended up happening ... we post our problems to help others and if they want to just call you a troll then its not worth posting about it
