i had a problem with my tundra .... and some people were rude so i never went back in the thread and wrote what ended up happening ... we post our problems to help others and if they want to just call you a troll then its not worth posting about it
Did you have a transmission problem? Or was it just the problems with the dealership that serviced your truck (not that I'm trying to belittle your problems, just that this thread is about transmissions...)? I'm trying to figure out exactly how many people really have had transmission problems. Aside from BigDave, all I can see are apparently 7 reported cases by Toyota corporate... I'm not sure if that included BigDave's case or not, but this may be a very small number of owners. I would like to know if others that have had transmission problems are able to provide details as made in my earlier post. That would go a long way to helping us decipher what may or may not be the problem/conditions of the problem under which the failure occurs.
BTW sorry that some were rude... I think a number of people just want to weed out all the trolls... I hope that didn't discourage you too much.
Stripped Honda, I know how you feel, but keep us going with your current situation or your past issue. You just have to move on and take advantage of the good stuff from this site.

my problem was more serious then a transmission failure .. if you search threads that i created then you will find it .. and no its not the problem i had with longo spraying oil over my engine bay

The problem with the wiring all going to sh!t causeing loss of acceleration control, due to Longo leaving the oil cap off and the motor spraying oil all over the engine compartment? I remember that problem.

I had to go back to my dealer, Atlanta Toyota, today and get an temporary tag extension and exchange a bedliner and .... I usually talk to several individuals there and they indicated ....
That TMCA wanted my defective transmission (it was replaced at 500 miles) shipped back to CA. I like the idea that Toyota is taking the time to really inspect it and not just ship it back to the junk pile in AL.
From all of our conversations ... the dealer still says that I am the only person that has had a defective 2007 6 spd. transmission replaced.
And ... I must say that I tend to believe them ... because I know and talk to many people there. .... It may be PR and it may not .. since ALL companies cruise these forums.
Maybe the transmissions problems are isolated like the "5.7L cranks" were ???
I must say that my dealer has been very good (except the business office) and I still like my Tundra.
SOS
PS .. I would think that TMCA would want to solve these problems quickly and stay out of any possible litigation (arbitration agreements can be broken) ... because I think that a lot of that confidential info. would be subject to discovery in a deposition .. but I am not a lawyer.
I would think that TMCA knows of this forum and reads it.
My .. "1st tranny is on its' way to you all" .. for your inspection. ...
Dude, sorry to hear about your experience at Longo. What a nightmare. Do you still have the Tundra? ANy ways, the dealer just called me to come get my Tundra in a little while, but they have to heat up the tranny first and make sure it has the right amount of fluid in it? they said this tranny is self-contained and doesn't require fluid replacement for 90k miles??? I asked if he has any info on why my first one failed. He said Toyota asked for my broken tranny two weeks ago, which he sent it to them. He said the "scientist guys" are pulling it apart to see what the deal is. Well, hopefully my truck gets me home tonight.

Hooray! hopefully you're happy with this new transmission and it all works out well for you!!!!
I'm glad you are getting this stuff resolved. And I'm impressed that you have kept optimistic about it all. We all want our big investments to last a long time. I for one am very intersted in these types of stories and how they turn out in the end. SOS, you have kept an upbeat attitude that I've seen in all your posts.
On a side note, I just drove through a wicked thunderstorm on the way home from work tonight, heavy rain, high winds etc. This Tundra handled it like a dream. Very easy vehicle to drive through crappy weather. Hopefully you guys will get that warm, fuzzy feeling back again now that you have your trucks back.
Back home, tranny seems fine. Wow, not having my truck for two weeks, I was quickly reminded of the power of my 5.7. I don't know about you guys, but sometimes when you hit the throttle at a green light, it snaps your head back. I am feeling better, but still a bit dissapointed with Toyota. On a funny note, my "Maintenance light is flashing", assuming it needs it's first oil change, but they didn't catch it? oh well. I also checked my door sticker tonight and the build place/date: Indiana 02/07, if this means anything to anybody. Thanks again for all your support, and I will keep you posted on how new tranny is holding up.
Hey PPbobkanobi, I just checked out the pics of your ride, wow, the CM is nice, and I really like the Nav option!! What is the feedback from people who have ridden in the back seat?
Someone will start a thread regarding some vehicle issue and the thread quickly becomes something totally unrelated. This thread is 9 pages long and I suspect less than a page is actually useful information regarding the issue. The remaining pages are just people chatting back and forth about whatever suits them while totally ignoring the thread topic. Many do this intentionally to keep the thread at the top, others just don't know any better.
At any rate this really needs to stop especially in these threads where the community sees the thread as a vehicle issue.
