Default Reg. Cab. L/B V-6= 20.2 mpg

I just burned my very first tank of gas, and I was happily surprised when I refueled it, and found that I had received 20.2 mpg on a brand new, awesome, comfortable, new Truck !!!

And I hear that it may get better as it gets broken in .... Oh, yeah !!!

We got about the same mpg before our first oil change. Now we're lucky to get 17 - 18. I asked for 5W-20 as per the manual and was assured that's what was used. Thinking of switching to synthetic to get better mileage. We're in Florida (hot, hot, hot). Any thoughts or suggestions?

The manual says to use 5-30 oil in the V-6, not 5-20.

Damn, my Tacoma with the same engine only got around 17-18 from day one. Oh, well, the Tundra with the 5.7 is getting 16 so not such a big difference for me, but would have loved to have gotten 20+ on the Tacoma when I had it.
