or a link to a pic of it on the net? I can't seem to find it anywhere to purchase it.
Thanks!
ps I just noticed a post a few up with a NAPA link. How can you tell that's the right one? I don't see any dimensions.
It's the black cap looking thing in the first pic on page 1. Apparently you'll be doing yourself a favor by getting the 65mm only, but I haven't had any problems with the combo...

Does anyone know where i could get a 65MM wrench all i see arounf is the 65/67mm
i got a metal 65mm from napa right there in the store, the plastic 65/67 didnt do it for me, just slipped, so then i cut of the 67mm part of it and the square hole where the ratchet snaps in stripped.... found the metal one and it worked perfect.
I grind of the hooks on my skid plate so it isnt cumberson to get off.... once the bolts are off it just falls off...

Thank you so much, My husband tried to change the filter this weekend. I came home to A LOT of cussing. He cannot believe they put the filter where they did, "stupidest thing i have ever seen!" Then 7 quarts of oil! Freaking Crazy.. All I could do was laugh . I will forward your post.
Ok, i changed my oil for the first time this weekend and i just dont see what all the fuss is about. I pulled the plug and the oil drained out into my pan with no problem. Did not splash all over on the tire or frame of truck. I changed oil in the grass just in case. I also installed a fumoto valve. The hardest part was pulling the skid plate. Changed the filter with no problem either. Got a little oil on my hands draining but thats to be expected. Changed filter and filled her up. Whats all the fuss about?

So it takes 7 qt's? so what! My old truck takes 6.5 qt's. Id rather put the whole seven in and be done, no 1/2 qt's sitting around. Anyone with the fumoto valve please post likes and dislikes.
HOLY CRAP! I'm in the middle of changing my oil right now. You weren't kidding when you said it was gonna get messy. I just sent my friend to go pick up some stuff to clean the floor with because I created a puddle of oil. Who the heck designed this thing? That little snap on tool for the filter created a huge mess on me! ARGH!
Has anyone had any trouble getting off the oil filter? I can't get it off, using the 65mm with 14 flute. I'm having my friend pick up the other kind of filter removal tool. This has been one huge pain in the behind!
I just changed it today for the first time as well, ~500 miles on the truck. Great "How-To" post, thanks!
1. The 65mm 14 flute metal wrench kept slipping so I put two paper towels in it and it helps grab. Spent 30 minutes trying to loosen it before I figured that out.
2. The oil splashed all over the place. My suggestion is to take a 2-liter bottle and cut it and use it over the drain plug to stop it from splashing.
3. 7 quarts does not fill it completely.
4. My filter had a lot of metal shavings in it.
The next time will be a lot simpler. Anyone know if the cartridge type filter we have has any benefit over the conventional metal can filter?
