pretty easy to do and many have done this...would much rather do this than take out the spring and risk airbag issues...anyone that does that is just plain stupid IMO, fine if you wanna kill yourself, but at least give your passenger the option

Would be nice if you could just adjust the amount of time the alarm sounded from the instrument panel like you can do on the limited models.

Like make the min time 5-10 seconds.

Hello Everyone .. this may be the best post in this 11 page thread that everyone has been waiting for .. your answer to...

"HOW TO DISABLE THE SEAT BELT CHIME BUZZER"

You dont need to take apart the seat belt and remove springs and tape this or that .. You dont need to take apart your dashboard and cut the device that emits the most annoying noise like you won $$ at a slot machine.

Attached are the instructions in .PDF Format on HOW TO DISABLE YOUR SEAT BELT CHIME / BUZZER for BOTH the DRIVERS SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE AS WELL .. without interfering with AIRBAG Operations. YES , Your seat belt light will continue to flash on / off while you drive your Tundra but NO CHIME AT ALL .. not for 30 sec .. not for 9 sec .. ! NEVER AGAIN! unless you disconnect the battery of the truck, it will re set and you will need to re do the procedure which takes less then 1 -2 min. for each front seat. You only need your Truck Key and You and the printed out PDF I attached, follow the directions and you too will have peace and quiet in your 2007 / 2008 Tundras like I do as of today.

A Toyota Dealer did this for me today without one hassle. The Mechanic that did it let me watch him do it as well. All I had to do was sign a release stating that I wont sue the Dealership for disabling the chime if any injuries or accidents occur due to the Chime being disabled.

Enjoy !

I'll trade my DC Tundra Grade to whichever one of you wants it and I'll just take that annoying buzzing off your hands. That seems like the best solution! Good luck and thanks NYPDBLUE that was really helpful!!!!!

Happy To Help .. I didnt even realize the guy at the dealership handed me the instructions when I left until I got home.. I thought it was just the copy of the release for saying im on my own ..

As for the limited guys .. I ll reach out to this guy and see if he can fax me a copy of the instructions for the LIMITED. Im sure there has to be one for that model too.. I thought it would have been for ALL models 07 / 08 .. guess not but for those that have the SR5 edition .. Enjoy the Silence !

I ll report back .. give me a day or two.

The instructions in the PDF are the Exact Steps that Came out of the Mechanics Book that he xeroxed for me. You have to follow the steps exactly .. took the guy less then 1 min each side to do both seats on my SR5 . Guess he has done it many times before he seemed to do it like a PRO and has it down to a science. ... if at first you dont succeed try try again .. but you should get it eventually.

Good Luck ..

For the Limited Owners .. I just left a Voice Mail for the guy .. so hopefully I ll have some good news shortly for you.
