I had the dealer turn off the passenger seat, they couldn't turn off the driver's seat. They said some Tundras are like that. I am still hoping this will work for someone else and we can figure out if we are doing something wrong.
LOL I meant that the instructions say to look for the display to say "seatbelt buzzer off"...I got nada

Sorry to hear all the problems that you all are having .. I copied the steps word for word off the copied sheet I was given and to the PDF .

I left a message for the guy to call me back, he didnt return my call today, hopefully tomorrow I ll hear from him and see what else he has to offer for help.

Some may think this is BS. Its truly not . I ll be happy to scan and show anyone my Toyota Dealership Work Order Stating that the Chime Was Disabled at the Dealer yesterday and the waiver I signed releasing them of any liability. My Seat Belt Chimes have not sounded since the dealer shut them off .. not 1 beep...

If you guys are having problems the next best suggestion is just go to your dealer and ask for them to disable the seat belt buzzer for you. Tell them that you will sign the liability release to not hold the dealer responsible for anything. They should do it ...

Here it is one more time..
Drivers Side -

Step 1 - Turn The Ignition Switch ON (Engine Should Not be Running)

Step 2 - Press The ODO/TRIP switch until the Odometer displays "ODO"

Step 3 - Turn the Ignition Switch OFF

Step 4 - Turn the Ignition Switch ON

Step 5 - Press the ODO/TRIP Switch immediately (within 6 seconds) and Hold it down for 10 Seconds or more.

Step 6 - Continue Holding down the ODO/TRIP switch and Fasten the Drivers Side Seat Belt.

Step 7 - Check that the odometer displays either "Seat Belt Buzzer On" or "Seat Belt Buzzer Off"

Step 8 - Press the ODO/TRIP switch to change the Display to "SEAT BELT BUZZER OFF"

Step 9 - Turn the Ignition Switch OFF

Step 10- Turn the Ignition Switch ON

Step 11 - Check that No Buzzer Sounds.

*************************************************

Passenger Side
-

Step 1 - Turn the Ignition Switch ON

Step 2 - Press The ODO/TRIP switch until the Odometer displays "ODO"

Step 3 - Turn the Ignition Switch OFF

Step 4 - Turn the Ignition Switch ON

Step 5 - Sit in the Front Passenger Seat. Press the ODO/TRIP switch immediately (within 6 seconds) and hold it down for 10 seconds or more.

Step 6 - Continue holding down the DOD/TRIP switch. Fasten and Release the passenger side Seat Belt.

Step 11
- Check that NO Buzzer sounds.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*: "SEAT BELT BUZZER OFF" indicates that the buzzer is OFF. "SEAT BELT BUZZER ON" indicates that the buzzer is ON. The buzzer ON/OFF setting will be finished (the odometer will display "ODO") if the ODO/TRIP switch is not operated for 10 seconds or more. In this case, perform step 11 to check that the buzzer ON/OFF setting is complete. If it is not complete, Start from Step 1 again.
Notice: When either the battery cable or the combination meter connector is disconnected, these buzzers are set on.
(b) OTHER PARAMETERS (Using Intelligent Tester) HINT:
The Following Items can be customized.
NOTICE:
  • Be Sure to record the current value before customizing
  • When performing troubleshooting, be aware that the functions may be set to OFF by customizing. (Example: In case of the symptom in which "The Wireless Operation does not function". check that the wireless operation is not set to OFF by customizing, then perform the troubleshooting).
Page ends here....
I ATTACHED THE EXACT DOCUMENT I GOT in Zip File TO THIS POST FOR YOU ALL TO READ .. should be the same as I typed.
Hope this helps.
It looks like those instructions refer to the multi-function display/odometer. My SR5 doesn't have the multi-function display which may explain why it doesn't work?
That's my guess, as well. Our SR5's don't have the multifunction displays on the ODO either.
I have the multi-function display on my 07 Limited Crew Max. No go for me either. I did get the dealer to use his laptop to turn off the passenger side a few weeks ago, but he said there wasn't an option on the software to turn off the driver side. He said that there was an option to turn off the driver side when he plugged the same software into the Owner's 08 Crew Max. These instructions pretty much match the instructions for reseting the Maintenance Warning and while I was trying this tonight I got that window to pop up a couple times while I was trying to get this to work. Oh I wish there was a better solution for this.
When I had the dealer turn on my alarm, I had them turn off the seat belt chimes for both front seats. No charge....
Its not a scam .. its what I was given as you see in the PDF Scanned documents and my Work order I posted. I watched the mechanic disable the chimes in less then 2 min - 3 min. I was outside the truck when he did it. I really didnt watch him like a hawk as I thought he would have needed to hook the truck to a laptop or computer or something but I didnt see him use anything but the Truck Ignition Key and The Sealt Belt. and he was pushing the Trip Odometer button as well..
I understand many guys tried to do this without success.. I dont know why its not working for others .. im not a mechanic. I only passed this on since it was given to me by the mechanic after I left the dealer.
My only other suggestion to you is do what I did.. bring your truck to the dealer like I did and have them disable both font and pass seats.. mine are off and have not been annoyed one bit anymore from dinging, anyone in the Miami Area that wants to stop by and see my truck for your self in person feel free to PM and I ll give you my location and you can see my truck for yourself. I will also show you the actual dealer paper work that shows they disabled both seatbelt sides.. DRIVER / PASS without all the whited out personal info as I dont want my info all over the internet.
Im still waiting to hear back from the Dealer .. I will call him again tomorrow and see what else I can find out. He has yet to call me back after 2 calls.
