Default Best $230 you can spend on your Tundra!!!

Well folks, I finally installed the coveted TRD Rear Sway Bar for my Tundra. Took me about an hour(because of phone calls) but think I have this baby squared away. When I first opened the box, one of the gold metal grommets were missing, and I about had a cow at that point. I found it (seperated from the boxed parts) and quickly installed. It is a very straightforward install. A monkey can do it (me). and is the best bang for your buck by far for a couple of Benjamins........pics to follow.
Took it out to test drive and low and behold I see a beautiful TRD '07 Tundra with all the goodies look back at my truck. We exchanged waves and I got behind him. Would you believe it? He had the same bar installed already. WTG.
The system handles very good, initiating alot of oversteer. Corners are handled better with minimal roll and speed kept up way above stock comfortably..... hope you like it. Just my .02.

it should be initiating OVERSTEER not understeer.

if it made the truck understeer it would be a worthless and dangerous product

sweet

i'm trying to jig rig some sort of rear sway bar for my 84 , the ones that say they fit do not because of me having a long bed , and the gas tank is in the way

seeing how teh 07 tundra one mounts maybe i'll just try to put the sway bar on backwards facing the rear and use longer bolts to attach it to the rear of the frame.

glad I saw this thread and pics so I can try and conjure up something on my truck

Looks like this might have to go on my truck. Of course I'd have to black it out first.

I just installed mine last week and so far, I love it. Truck is very good on cornering and turns. I just aired my rear tires back to 35 PSI from 30 PSI and even have less roll now. I recheck after a few days of use make sure the bolts are now loosening up. Sure did found 2 bolts that bolts to the frame loosened a bit. I drove the truck hard on bumps, dips uneven road and turns. Sway bar is holding up good.

TRD option does not include the rear anti-sway bar.

In fact, the anti-sway bar I ordered for my Tundra TRD showed up today. Will be bolting it on soon.

Does anyone know how this effects the travel of the rear wheels when off-road? I'm not sure if this works similarly, but some folks in other vehicles uninstall the front and rear sway bar (when applicable) prior to offroading so they can get more travel. I would be interested to see how this effects the 4x4 models and their ability to run off-road. How difficult would it be to remove and re-install these rear sway bars?

Thanks

Articulation would be just as restricted as any other leaf spring configuration. The whole concept of the larger sway bar is to further reduce axle flex/travel.
Surely a set of "quick discos" could be fabbed up pretty easily.
4X4 models should be more inclined to pursue a spring over/long arm configuration.
