Default Lack of transmission cooler on sport models

I'm sure you guys with RCSB tundras that have the sport appearance package know our trucks don't have the add-on transmission coolers in front of the radiator. My question for the knowledgeable peeps out there is whether there's any cooling provision at all for the trans fluid in our trucks

I took a good look around the engine compartment and only found what looks to be a power steering cooler, but nothing that goes to and from the transmission. I'd be pretty shocked if our transmissions didn't have any external cooling

Any takers on this one?

Mine has a cooler in front of the radiator on the right side. Its not that big but when I looked up the transmission cooler on the TIS website, the drawing shown is the same as in my truck.

Its not that suprising. My guess is the 6-8k or so you can tow doesn't put that much stress on it.

I am under the impression that this is an oil cooler, not a trany cooler. The tranny cooler is located behind the bumper, and gets almost no direct airflow...

Question Re: Lack of transmission cooler on sport models

Ok, has anyone found out if the '07 5.7 DC 2wd models have a tranny cooler on the Sport models?

Not really, even cars have always had a trans oil cooler. For decades they've been built into the bottom of the radiator (water cooled). If you look you'd always see two small 1/4"+-oil lines in that area that come from the auto trans housing. Can't say where it is for the non-tow package Tundras but I'd bet they have one, external (air cooled) or built into the radiator bottom tank.
