Can we use the Imgburn program to burn the DVD-ROM? I am getting everything set so I can attempt this tommorrow.

Someone on one thread said some features are lost with this method, such as the Aux input plug support. Have you lost any features, can you still plug into the Aux?
This is the same process as the TCH nav system and FYI I burned countless coasters trying to make a hacked disc that would work and there's a long list of people who haven't been able to get it to work either. People who were able to get it to work had better luck w/Roxio than NERO. Some even reported not having to use ImgBurn to make a working copy. Either way, step 1 should be to burn an exact copy of your working nav disc using the same media, burner and burning software to assure that all of the above works. This way you will know if you have any other problems before you get started and if you do it's w/the actual process and not your media, burner or software.

No, you will need NERO, Roxio or some other burning software to burn to disc. ImgBurn only creates images and doesn't possess the ability to burn the image.

I burnt an exact copy and it didn't work!! The only way to get it to work is to use ImgBurn to create a disk image first (an .iso file) then burn the CD.
The key to the process is creating an ISO image first using ImgBurn. This avoids the whole ISO/UDP problems with files larger than 2gb.

No, what I mean is that you must first burn AN EXACT COPY OF THE NAV DISC w/o making a single change to it. Simply select 'copy disc' using your burning software and mirror image the factory disc.
This way you make sure your media, burner & software will all jive with your factory deck. If you can't burn an exact copy and make it work don't even proceed to trying to modify the original image and make it work because it won't. If you're able to get the exact copy to play (make sure you disconnect your negative battery to force a reload of the disc) then you can proceed to the process of modifying your files to get the new (read: old) kiwi file to work.

That is exactly what I did, burn an exact copy!! Disc to Disc with no success! But, that could have been the software I used. Regardless, I would stick with the Memorex Dual Layer DVD +R. It has worked for me and a few others out there. They sell them at Staples and Walmart. Verbatim is the other brand I heard that worked. The first discs I tried were Fuji's, which I tried disc to disc with and it failed.

For anyone else doing this, If you're unable to get this step to work I wouldn't suggest going to all the effort of re authoring the new disc since something isn't jiving with what you're already using.

Be my guest to do what you want....I only gave what process worked for me, after building 5 bad DVS!! The extra steps were a little tedious, but guess what, it WORKED and most of all, there is no reason why NOT to do it as I posted. I tried the other methods which worked historically for some people, but after reading plenty of cases where it didn't work, I decided to try the route that seemed to have the best results. I still have all those bad DVD's which have all the data on them but don't read in my NAVI, you can take one of them!! Be my guest and read through the below link where plenty of people discussed their aggravations. As you sift through it, you will see the method I mentioned originated because of the issues of straight disc copy! I'm only a software developer...so don't take my word for it!

I don't even need to click that link because I know which one you're linking too... I'm a member of that forum and have posted to that thread several times so I understand the process completely.
I'm sensing a little hostility in your comments to me so let me try to clear up what I'm attempting to say/do here. I could be reading your posts wrong and if I am, nothing being said here is attacking so please don't take it as such.
I'm not knocking your steps nor am I trying to say you're wrong so no need to be defensive. I agree that they are correct so please take a step back, take a deep breath and realize that I'm merely suggesting a completely separate step prior to starting to make sure that people's media, burner and software work with their deck prior to preceding since these nav units are picky to all of the above as it will save lots of headache. If you don't do this step first and it doesn't work then you don't know if it was the media, burner, burning software, settings on burning software, image software, image software settings or your injected file or your disc rip or... you get the point. It makes for a much easier trouble shooting process if it doesn't work.

Great post! Does this hack get rid of the I Accept screen??
Nope. It reverts to the previous version of loading software that allows you to see the I accept screen whereas you don't even get the option to override on the newer version. So it's not the type of 'hack' that allows you to re write things it simply changes the load file that allows you to override the safety BS using the OEM method from previous disc versions.
