Does any one know, once you have gone back to 5.1 from 6.1 using the DVD burning solution, if the Lockpick system from Coastaletech would then work to fully unlock the system automatically?? (There is not a lockpick available for my 2007 Land cruiser and I am assuming it is due to the software override no longer being there in the 6.1 software for the lockpick to manipulate. Or am I missing something entirely?)

Thumbs up Re: DIY: Navigation Unlocked Sucessfully!!!

alright, without the firmware i found a way to get into the service menu.

1. while stopped, hold the info button in while turning the light switch from off to fog three times.

works everytime and no need to hack a dvd and hope it works.

my question is in your instructions it says hold down the override button until it beeps. which menu listing is this 'override' button located?

also, how do you get out of the diag mode without turning off the ignition?

thanks,

Jeff

Thanks for reposting that, but that is the exact problem and why we went to a hybrid disc.
The 6.1 service menu does not have an override function.

But if you find otherwise, please post, for now I will stick with the hybrid, as I have not found a "lost" function yet.

i couldn't find it, i stand corrected. but i did find two cd player codes i wish i knew what they were. 01 and 03.

also, can you tell me where i am going wrong.

1. copy original dvd map 6.1
2. replace loading.kwi with 5.1
3. make iso with imageburn
4. burn data dvd no multisession and close with nero onto dvd+r DL disc.

i can't get even a 1:1 copy of the original to work which is where this started for me trying to back up the original for 'just in case' purposes. Can you give me a rundown on how you made your hybrid disc, this is driving me crazy that i can't make a working copy. Everytime i try i get a no dvd disc inserted error and i use the best verbatim dvd+r DL media

thanks,

Jeff

I made mine exactly as outlined in post 1 in this thread, with one exception. I used Imgburn to write the disc as well. I got mine right the 1st time, so I can't really give a good trial and error.

Your best bet is to read through this entire thread one more time and make some notes. I do not know what is causing your failure, but possibly someone else could better help.

success!!!
i tried one last time to make the dvd hybrid disc and this time it worked. The problem turns out that Imageburn didn't ask me if the v6.1 was the root. I had inadvertantly just copied all the files instead before. Anyways, it works now perfectly, now if i can just find out what error codes 03 and 01 mean for the cd player i will be happy. As well as fixing the unreliable WMA playback, MP3 is fine.....

thanks again,
Jeff

So far I have unsuccesfully tried to make a hybrid 5.1/6/1 DVD for my 2007 Land Cruiser. I successfully copied the 6.1 DVD and it worked with no problems (including a fresh load after a battery disconnect).

The strange thing is that when I take my 5.1/6.1 hybrid disc to the vehicle and load it without a battery disconnect it is recognized and works fine with the 6.1 firmware. But, when I do a battery disconnect, it tells me to insert the proper navigation DVD (in English and Japanese apparently). Is my 07 Landcruiser navigation incompatible with the 5.1 firmware??? Any other ideas. Thanks to everyone.

Final notice: I decided to build a few speed pulse generators for others on this forum but both batches sold out quickly. So I got my hands on a huge parts stockpile and I am building 8 units this weekend but 3 of those were already sold even before I finished the assembly. So if any of you still want to enable all NAV functions all the time via the speed pulse generator and you can't or don't want to go through the hassle to make one of these devices for yourself, then you can PM me and I will give you one of the units I am building until my stock runs out. I don't plan to build another batch any time soon - too much else to do right now including the ever-growing honey-do list which has suffered while I solder away in the computer room each night on these circuits...

To everyone burning coasters: I was having problems burning a 5.1/6.1 hybrid for my 2007 Land Cruiser. I followed the directions explicitly, was able to make a functional copy of my 6.1 disc, but no luck on the hybrid. I was reading through a similar thread at toyotanation.com and one of the posters pointed out that he thought there were different loading.kwi files for different toyotas or groups of toyotas and had a link to a 49.8 MB 5.1 loading.kwi file (as opposed to the 45.8MB loading.kwi file regularly referenced here and in other threads for download). Lo and behold, a hybrid disc made with the 49.8MB file worked the first time on my Land cruiser and the override within the service menu was functional. I hadn't read this discussed elsewhere, and certainly don't know where or how to identify the necessary loading.kwi file for each vehicle, but this could definitely be the source of non functional hybrid discs for those trying to make them for vehicles other than the 2007 Tundra which started this thread.

As an interesting side note, I borrowed a 4.1 nav disc from a friend who has a 2005 Land cruiser today (don't know anyone with an 06), as I was starting to wonder if my nav was incompatible with the 5.1 loading.kwi file. The 4.1 disc loaded with no problem into my 2007, and a copy of it was functional as well. The loading.kwi file on the 4.1 disc is also 49.8 MB...

Default Sorry new to this please help me if you can!

Is there a way to over ride the navigation system on my 2005 LMTD Sequoia with out cutting wires and or burning a dual layer dvd? Also has any one had problems with the rear door handle breaking on the Sequoia is it an easy fix?

Thank you.

I am still having several problems with this procedure and have failed on 2 disc tries.
#1 - I have succesfully copied all of the files from my toyota 6.1 DVD to my hard drive except one, I can't copy the data file called Virtual0.DAT to my backup directory I get a file can't be copied error message despite dozens of attempts. the sister file Virtual1.DAT does copy so and it is the exact same file size (448kb) so I made a copy of it and renamed it Virtual0.DAT. I have no idea what is in this file so if anyone can e-mail me the correct file from the 6.1 disc that would be great (holden.markle@hp.com). #2 - Now on to the above procedure - I am in step 4 at the labels tab and it is unclear what I type into the UDF: field - any anme I want? #3 - the when I click on "build" ISO image it wants a location and a file name - what do I select - the hybrid file on my PC hard drive - please clarify??? Then once done are you saying all I have done is to creat an image that is yet to be burned on my DL DVD? image burn can't do that ofr me and I now have to go to a second program like Nero to actually bring this image onto the DVD??? Your instructions are good but incomplete. Please clarify. I am reasonably computer savy and I can't follow your directions completely - anyone who has done this successfuly please advise!!!!!!!
