Has anyone else noticed a rattle coming from the dash. I've got a 07 CM and its driving me nuts. I can't stand to have a rattle in a brand new vehicle. Any suggestions on how to fix this or the possible source of my rattle. Thanks!
That is the most frustrating problem, I can't pinpoint it, at times it sounds as if it is coming from the center portion of the dash around the radio unit, other times it sounds like its coming from the center console. Mostly from the center of the vehicle.
I "thought" I had a rattle in the dash. Very similar to yours, coming from the center of the dash. I took me 30 minutes to realize it was my f'n sunglasses in the roof storage bins that was moving around up there.
I bet you it is the center console. Mine just started doing it. When locked, move it back and forth, mine moves a lot, and makes noise. All the plastic clips and crap underneath are making noise as well.
This weekend everything comes out of the truck, so I can verify what I already know and then fix it.

I had one obnoxious one on the right side. I don't think mine is the window TSB thats been released.
Today I removed both glove boxes. Soounded like something behind them or above them rattling on a hard surface. Seems like it is gone now with both units out. I'll drive it for a day or 2 to see. Then I will reassemble one component at a time. I will add some foam around the heater ducts as I go before reassembly.
Here's a post for the common dash rattle, there is a service bulletin attached, and it's covered by your warranty. Dash Noise Already?
Thanks for the link, looks like its a trip to the dealer with only 500 miles. Oh well, I guess it could be worse. I noticed that in older model Tundras and Tacomas people using 1/2 " backer rod b/t the windshield and the dash to fix the mysterious rattle. Anyone tried this on a new Tundra?

It is your Tundra ... but I do NOT trust any dealer to find a rattle in my dash. ..
I have visions of the dash scratched all to h*ll ... and the rattle is even worse now ...
I would rather spray 25 cans of "insulation foam' (high expansion type) into the dash .. than to take my truck to a dealer to find a dash rattle. ..

The way the interiors on any new truck are designed, its hard to tell if a noise i sreally coming from the dash. When I got my 04 Ford, the first truck I test drove had a horrible rattle coming what seemed to be the center of the dash - I thought the airbag was going to go off in my face any second. After about 15 min of highway driving, the wife and I tracked the noise down to the passenger sun visor, which wasn't 100% locked in. After buying a different truck, I've had 2 seperate incidents where I thought the dash had discomboobulated. The first was sunglasses rattling in the overhead bin, the second was a can of bug spray in the rear door pocket.
The moral of the story is, make sure there is nothing loose anywhere in the cab before you convince yourself you have a dash noise.
I also had what sounded like a dash rattle in the center of the dash of my CrewMax. Just happened to look at the speaker grille on the driver's side of the dash. It wasn't popped into place. 3 seconds and the rattle was gone. Just a possibility???? Again it sounded like it was coming from the center of the dash. Good luck

Drove to work this morning, both glove boxes are out, and it still rattles. It only rattles when driving, I can't make it do it by tapping or rapping on the dash. I think it is up around the vent tube supplying air to the right side vent on the top of the dash. Sounds like a Saturday project. I have some foam to stuff around up there, just need to find the sweet spot.
I had the same dash rattle on/off - finally discovered it's the ash tray - just pull out and replace and rattle is gone. Any time after that it is the same problem again. I use my ash tray to hold stuff.
