On the tundra headquarters website, they say that the truxxx lift kit will not work with the TRD skidplate. What has everyone done about this problem? thanks.
Hey "mxsjw", I'll be needing you to stay away from Edgwood & Milton.... Don't need my wife flashing you thinking it's me!
Nice setup..
I'll do what I can, but I have to drive through there to get to work.
Your wife has a habit of flashing Tundra's?

Did anyone require a longer bolt to reinstall the TRD skid plate?

Are you talking about the TRD skid plate that looks like this???
If so, I don't know what the problem would be with interference as I do not have that plate.
I have the OEM thin black skid plate that "comes" with the TRD package, it only required a slight bend or trim to fit the tires, the lift had nothing to do with it. The thin black skid plate did have to be spaced away after the differential drop, the kit included it.
I would assume that the aluminum one pictured, would need to be spaced away after adding a differential drop, I don't think any kits currently offer that spacer kit, but it would be quite easy for a "handy" guy or gal to come up with something.
Does that answer you question?

I have the same trux lift and BFG tires on stock wheels. I did put the tires on before the lift and they will fit but it is super close. The lift went on 12 hours later. Took me about 3 hours with a friend helping and I'm not sure I could have put the bottom arm back by myself.
In terms of wear I've got 20k miles on the the tires and they look almost new. I was wary of BFG tires too but they seemed to have improved since the last set I bought 15 years ago. I didn't have the vsc problem but did have an issue balancing without the weights hitting the calipers. Took two tries. I have noticed the power steering pump definately works harder but that is to be expected. Also dropped about 1mpg on the mileage.
I'm considering Truxx kit and have a question to you guys having 4x4 trucks and Truxx kit installed..do you hear any knocking or clicking while in 4HI or 4LO??

No, nothing like that what so ever.
What exactly are you thinking might be happening?
I mean, what is your concern?

I believe one of our members had to take the kit off because of this problem, it was TOXarch if I'm not mistaken.
I don't think it was Toxarch, but I could be wrong...
I know someone took off their ToyTec cause the springs were sagging from the compression, but I don't recall a Truxxx lift being removed.
What, suposedly, was the problem?

I'm almost 100% that was him but I might be wrong, I will try to find that post. Do you have any kind of issues with the kit, as far as ride, handling.. etc. would you still recomend it.

No, no issues what so ever.
I would completely recommend it still.
Been on for 7500 miles now, checked over my joints, boots, and the rest of the front-end components...nothing out of the ordinary at all.
