I always keep my truck clean. I wash it every week and Amorall the dash and plastic. I noticed this happening to my dash so I took it to a dealer. They say at firdt it could be the heat. I said I had my 2000 Tundra and this never happened to it. Now they say I did something to it and I should pay someone to spray paint it. I said I was not paying for something that I don't believe is my fault. They say I could see the Toyota rep when he is in town and have him look at it and see what he says. I'm not very happy about this. Other than that, this has been a great truck. Check out the pictures.

Armorall is not a good product for this application IMO, but it shouldn't have done anything like this. Is it only this one area?

It is also very little spots above the upper glove box. I've never had Amoral do this to any vehicle I have owned.

Not acceptable to me on a 4 month old truck. I am going to fight to get it fixed.

Yes mine has done this and worse!
To me its a concern as in what else on the vehicle
was shortcahanged?
But my real trouble is trying to get the mechanical
issues fixed!
I am like though, it is a crappy way to make a dash!
My wife puts her feet up on mine, like she always has through 3 other Tundras and two fords.
This is the first time I have ever had any issue like that especially after only 3000 miles!
But I am not whining, get the vibration out and I can fix the paint.
Just plan on having repainted before you can ever sell it!
When I bought my Tundra there was a little warning card that stated not to use certain products and that Pledge should be used for the dash. Never heard of using Pledge, but Toyota states thats the best product to use so I use it.
Have you ever used bug repellant with deet? If so it could have done that.
The painted dash is certainly a bad idea, but it looks like something that you caused. And by caused I mean you did something you have done before, and because the poor design of the dash finish you got that marking.
My DC had a small area above the glove box where the gray showed through..it was there when we bought the truck. The remedy was to re-paint the area with matching paint, done by my dealer. The paint is VERY thin and I think any rubbing with any cleaner will, over time, remove the color pigment. I bought a dash topper to protect the dash from the sun. So far the dash still looks new.

I have the same exterior/interior color combination as MJScore. Wow! Pledge....really?
I'm in total agreement on the cheap dash... and door panels, btw. Although great, these Tundras are just a bit too "Americanized" for my liking. It seems the bean counters had a little too much influence over the this truck and not enough input from the "amenities" deptartment.
In my opinion, they could have used the same material they made the steering wheel center cover out of and been a lot better off. I think this is one of those things we should all raise hell about- this dash is wayyyy to cheap to be on such a great truck.
As far as the paint wearing off... say to the dealer, "oh, well, since it's a painted dash, it's obviously defective paint. If the paint started flaking off of the exterior, you're telling me that wouldn't be covered either?"
Definitely see the regional guy when he comes in..... and stop putting your foot up there.
Mild soap and water with a cotton towel will clean up your dash and door panels without harm and surprisingly well. Mid 90's GM trucks had dash bezel paint and this method was ok for that.
