Dear Truck Accessory Vendor,

We, the new 07 and later Tundra owners, really want skid plates. Not cheesy aluminum ones, but real, tough, skid plates. One to protect the gas tank instead of that carpy plastic insult Toyota gave us. Probably to protect other parts too. What are you waiting for? Toyota is selling over 200,000 of these trucks per year! The FJ has loads of parts for it, and it sells only one third as many units. For truck's sake- give us the plates!

I asked WX Motorsports about this. They are going to look into in, then get back to me. If he doesn't reply to this post, I will update it with any info I get from them.

Haven't bough a Tundra yet (waiting for diesel), but I'll add a few requests too.

Aside from real skid plates, who do we have to kill to get a rear locking differential, and maybe a center locker too?

Center is locked when you put it in 4x4. I hear Arb is working on the rear locker.

I thought about it for a while and a front locker would be nice too. The center diff locker was a brain fart on my account.

I think that there should be a good selection of stuff by next spring. Sometimes the aftermarket has to wait for a customer to buy a truck and bring it by before they can get started on a product. Only the majors are going to get a preproduction truck so they can make it to sema.

I should have some data on Friday. Some of the FJ accessories mfg are working on some toys for the Tundra. Also, Toyota is doing a luncheaon at SEMA specifically for the FJ and Tundra Accessory market. I will be there.
