Default Bumpy Ride

Someone help me. I have a Crew Max with the off-road package and when I drive on the freeway it gets really bumpy in the rear. Is there anything I can do to soften the ride?

Sincerely,

plywood *** guy

A little piece of advice for ya, search the forum. There are alot of members, including myself, on here that look at every thread and freak out when someone starts another thread on the same thing that has been beaten into a bloody pulp. Don't take offence, just take it as a helpful hint.

I believe you'll find that a little weight back there, maybe a couple hundred pounds, will really calm that down. I wish Toyota hadn't built the truck so heavy duty in a way for my usage. Even my 2WD sport model bounces a little on the highway if the speed and bumps are correct. I noticed my 240SX sports cars doesn't in these spots but honestly it doesn't bug me since it's not that frequent or jarring.

I've got the same problem. It runs great on asphalt, but concrete fwys w/ control joints makes the thing drive like a pogo stick on wheels.

Get one of these: shurtrax added truck weight for better truck traction (problably find it cheaper some where eles). I got mine for $40 bucks on amazon.

I am also looking to see if additional leaf springs, air springs or an air suspention system would be beneficial.

I find that mine smooths out nicer than a lexus when you hook up my 3500# ranger boat to it.

Try replacing the shocks with Rancho adjustable RS9000XL series. Part number: RS999324 for the 07 Tundra. It is not a cure all but it eliminated the jarring vibes, backslaps, jittery vibes on my truck. Start with setting at 5 for Crewmax. Mine is currently set at 4. The suspension is still firm but not jarring. If you don't have a sway bar, the ride is gonna be smoother. Adjust the setting accordingly with the weight you put on the truck that way the truck remains stable. At setting 9, it is super stiff. Stiffer than stock. $101 a piece. I got mine from Ramona Tire.

But if you want a really soft ride, you gonna have to replace the stock springs. Deaver Springs has springs for 07 Tundra. It will raise the truck 2 inches and you also have to buy the shackle that goes with these springs. It is a 10-leaf spring pack. $600 something and the shackles are $100 roughly. You can order thru them or thru their distributors.
