I have the same problem and took the step of removing my seat and looking at it on workbench. The noise is emanating from the backrest pivot area on my seat.
Seat is manual cloth bench.
I tried all seat adjustments in hopes of getting it to stop prior to pulling the seat but no dice.
Gleagle Tundra, if the dealer fixes the pop without replacing the seat, find out what they did and post here if you can.
Funny, when my seat pops, the wife and kids complain about a strange unpleasant smell in the truck and the window lock mysteriously engages.
Anybody else have this problem or just my truck??????????
I had the same problem (cloth bench). My buddy is a tech at Toyota. He tore apart the backrest and found the webbing/springs binding and making noise when pressure was applied.
Then I got a new driver seat! So far so good, no more noise! Take your guys trucks in!

Reason: spelling
My seat does both. It is a power bucket. Makes a popping sound when stopping or starting. Thought maybe it had something to do with the motor on the seat. It has also just started making a crackling noise when getting out. It sounds like there is plastic under the cloth on the seat, making a crackling noise. I will have to get it looked at.
My 07 CM(cloth bucket, power drivers) makes the popping sound when accelerating or braking. I don't even notice it anymore. Glad to hear I'm not the only one. Guess I can put away the Richard Simmons workout video and take Jenny Craig off of the speed dial. Thanks.
Cloth, bench, seat no power. Noticed it the first week i had it. tokk two months to get a new seat in.
It's doing it again but not as bad. If you crank the front adj knob a little it seems to lessen the frequency of the "popping". I'll take it back as soon as I feel it willl do it when the Tech drives it.
This is a split bench. It feels like there is alot of play in the Adj. mechanisms. It takes a bit of finesse to get the seat to slide and latch forward and backwards evenly.
