I have read the whole manual, must have missed that little tidbit, thanks.
One question about that though, does holding that button for 2 sec, defeat it until you do it again, or just until you turn off and restart the truck?

Ah, OK, I think I did read that.
The dealer "jack in" is permanent, until you have them jack in again.

Thanks for all the great info, guys! The 2 second push will ease my frustration for the time being. However, I'd still prefer to have it permanent by the dealer.

Thanks again,
Gary

I just had this happen to me this morning. Happend 4 times on the way home from work. Every 3 minutes it changed on its own. Kinda frustrating, ill see if it does it later tonight when I go to work.

I was wondering how you had your vent set...interesting, I have mine set to forward and/or forward-down all the time, and it never switches off of recirc. When I set it to defrost the recirc turns off though.

funky

It's a bit odd now. Ever since I took the advice of someone on this forum to push the recirculate button for over 2secs, I haven't had the problem. It stays right where it should now (even after I've turned off/on my truck).

With all the smoke and fires in the air out here right now, I can't have it blow "fresh (smokey)" air into the cab

Thanks for all the replies!

Default A/C Recirculate issue.

Are any of you guys having an issue with your A/C recirculate cutting off on its own. When I push the button the light stays on for about 3 or 4 minutes then it cuts off and allows fresh air to enter the vehicle. It has just started doing this. Any ideas??? Anyone having this issue??? I know it cuts off automatically when you go to defrost and cuts on automatically when you select A/C Max, this is not what I'm talking about. I like to leave it on recirculate when the air is off so I do not have to smell exhaust from other vehicles on the road.

I have tried this and doesnot work. I already read this in the manaul. I have noticed that it happens at 52F degrees and below. I have held the button down for 2 seconds and about 3 minutes go by abd happens again and I even tried for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 seconds too. I took mine into the dealership on Saturday and they said there is no program for the SR5 for the fresh air button doing this. Do you think I may have a bad switch too?

I noticed mine doing this last week when i was driving down the highway and wondering why hot air was blowing through my vents. I looked down and it was set to fresh air. I switched it to recirculate and low and behold next time I looked down it was back on fresh air. Every time i put it on recirculate it switches itself back to fresh air.

It only happens at outside temp at 52 or below. I had to turn mine to hot tonight because it was kept on happening. I don't know what the fix is for this. Maybe someone has some proper insight on a fix. Do you have a SR5 CrewMax too?
