Bummer CARLC . Had my DC left bed side crunched 9-7 07 1114 miles, had it fixed and am taking it back today to have all the over spray buffed off the rest of the truck( not happy ) sure hope you have better luck with yours. FIND a gooood body shop. The door should be an easy replacment. Fingers crossed.
Yeah, cause we all know that them f-150 drivers are all just a bunch of uncaring rednecks. Next someone will claim that the guy probably just drove off right. Some of you guys are elitest pr@$&s.
Dude, did you forget your chill pill? Sorry, I struck a nerve. Do you have an F-150 in your garage or what?
Thank goodness you did not back the big grizzly tundra into the Ford, The Ford would have been declared totaled. Seriously, I am sure this can be made to look like brandy new again. Not to worry. A new door at the minimum, I would accept nothing less from the toyota body shop or my insurance. Best of luck.
If there is any good thing that can come out of this is the rear door is the thing that took the hit. It looks like they can through a new door on and paint it and you will be good to go. It looks like it will fix up pretty good. If your body and fender guy is top notch, you will never know it got hit. Or should I say no one else will know it ever got hit.
Yesterday I took the truck to the body shop who will do the repair. The guy is really good. Said he could put a skin on the door or replace it. I'm going to insist to the insurance company that I want a new door. Seems like the only logical/best fix. Just have to wait now for the adjustor to come...
carlc, stick to your guns on the "NEW" door. Your truck was NEW before their insured hit it. You don't want a bunch of bondo in your new truck.....
discoshorts - what happened to that poor thing ?????????

Yeah, but I'm not sharing them
Its painful to look at the pictures.
I'm smiling again, I picked up my slate metallic grey CrewMax last night - same spec as the one I totalled (5.7, 4x4). I love this color. The wife kinda pushed me towards the previous color; but I had free rein this time.
I just ordered the backup camera, bed rug, dimming mirror, pedals and shifter. I had to remove the console safe and re-use in my new truck.
This one came with Toyota's running boards - i like them a lot more than the 3rd party ones I had.
Still looking for a low profile tool box - can't find a picture of one in a CM before I buy.
I just put 50 miles on my new one, hopefully I'll get more than 1,500 out of her.
The wrecked one is at a salvage auction - someone is going to get a real sweet deal if they need a 5.7L engine, or all the extras I installed.

I was happy as I got a new truck out of it - who wants to be selling an accident repaired vehicle when the time comes to get a new one again
Just returned early from a deer hunting trip. Last night at the check station some a-hole backed his F150 into the rear driver's side door of my double cab. Completely crushed the door. I took some pictures and will post one soon.
What really pee'd me off is that I only have 1900 miles on the truck.
On the bright side, towed my little camper great and got over 16 mpg for this short trip.
I know some guys don't want to hear this stuff, but sometimes you just gotta tell someone.
Carl
I wonder, if the dealer could order, a pre painted door, off the assembly line?

It is a little alarming to me at some of the 'totals' or Certifications of Salvage that are issued by inursance companies at what appears to minor damage, can add up quick.
I am curious to know what happened to cause this fire in the bed of a Crewmax.

Exactly what I was thinking too. At least the damage was localized to a single, bolt on replaceable part. Stick with a new door.
Sorry it happened though ... good luck and find a good body man.
