I was at the dealership on Monday for President's day contiplating purchasing a CM LTD Tundra 4x4 5.7 and I have to say the truck was very impressive with the exception of the bed and especially the tail gate. The tail gate felt ringy dingy for a 1/2 ton pickup. This is one area that Toyota really needs to fix if they expect to receive respect from the big 3. I think if the CM came with a larger bed I may have purchased it though I was very concerned about the cheapness with the construction of the bed and tailgate.
I will see what Toyota delivers for 09 until then I'm keeping the Ram.
I got the ATV guys!!! I got the 2008 CAN AM 800 Outlander XT. I drove up to Phoenix to get which is about 120 mile from me. There were only 3 in the whole state of Arizona. I got the color I wanted which was green. It weighs 636 pounds dry. It came with front and rear brush guards, Warn winch, and a Tamarack rear storage with seat and foot pegs. Out the door it probably weighs 720 pounds. I weigh 205 to 210 depending on if I just pooped or not. So that's a lot of weight. I got it last Thursday and have loaded and unloaded it 5 times. I have had absolutely not one single problem with the tailgate so far with my set up. The back tire rests on the tailgate with the wood over it. I have even gone down some very rough roads and still I have no sign of cracking. I need to take pictures for you guys, but I have been so excited about riding this machine I have not had the chance. I love this quad!! Its a monster.

Conrats on the new ATV. What made you go with the Can AM 800 Outlander over say the Kawasaki 750 Brute Force, Honda, Suzuki or Yamaha?
P.S. If you replaced your tailgate with a Dodge Ram tailgate you would not have tor worry about weight or adding wood. I had my brother in law ride his ATV in the back of my Ram and he weighs 350lbs and the ATV weighs 700lbs and I never gave it a second thought.

Are the tailgates the same with the 08's as the 07's?
I've seen the posts regarding the failures and asked my dealer about it. He said, "it's not a problem with the 08's"????
Most dealers are idiots! I drove a DC 4x4 5.7 and I mentioned the tailgate issue. The the dumb **** sales guy started yelling at me, stating that there has NEVER been a tailgate issue, and he told me at least 5 times that it was truck of the year. I told him he should read and learn about his products before he opens up his mouth and I left!

I reviewed every ATV on the market. My 2 choices came down to the Brute Force 750i and the Can Am. They both have a V twin which I love. They all have problems but the Can Am had the ones I could deal with easier. The Can Am was the most expensive by far but I just had to have one.

I remember watching a program on TV w/in the last few months(sorry I can'tm remember the name) But it had the can-am 650 against the top 4 atv manufacturers biggest quad, and it won in every aspect (drag, weight pull, offroad capabilities, smoothness) they didn't even have a need to bring out the can-am 800.
So it looks like your crewmax gate is starting to seperate already?
Zack
Actually, that's the way its been since day 1 when I bought it new. I think that little separation is normal. It has not changed at all since I got the ATV.

What purpose does the plywood serve? Nice quad BTW.
Thank you, I love this quad!!! The plywood is there so when I put my ramps on the tailgate it distributes the weight. Then when I drive around with the ATV I don't have all the weight under just the 2 tires. I'm sure someone else can chime in and give an engineering answer.

I wish I had the room for a trailer. I have a house with a 2 car garage with my truck and a Honda Accord. I wish I got the 3 car garage than my problems would be solved.
I am surprised you could fit your Crewmax in a garage. They also make folding trailors but I don't know there strength.
