I was thinking about buying a CAN AM 800, but I don't know it will fit in the back of my truck. I also have the bed extender. I was thinking with the tailgate down maybe its possible. Any thoughts? Any Pictures?

it could be possible. i would worry about the width rather than the length if you have a bed extender. take some measurements before you buy the ATV to see if it will fit.
Maybe a trailer is the BEST way to go for hauling an atv. Although I have saw some in the back of crewmax's running around town. I think the question you have to ask yourself is if the cables that hold the tail gate up are strong enough. It wasn't that many years ago GM had a recall on them there cables because they had broke with people sitting on the tail gate.
No, my friend, check Alaska Cub's posts and check out his tailgate pics. I'm surprised you haven't seen that thread. Seems like anyone hauling a 4wheeler with the rear axle on the tailgate is having the upper gate edges crack bend and separate. My friend just bought a Can Am 800 also and it weighs more than my Polaris Sportsman so I think you'd be in big-time trouble if you hauled it.
I bought a can am 800 outlander xt last year, when i had a 2006 doublecab 4x4 tundra and i had to leave the the talegate down on it. With the XT package the front and rear bumper and a winch i like about 3 inches from being able to close it. Ive since bought a trailer.

I bet it would fit easily with a bed extender. I have an '04 DVX400 in my short bed but again I have an RC.

I'd do it if both the truck and wheeler are insured! <grin>
Seriously though the CAN AM 800 is a heavy machine, based on what I have seen I wouldn't do it. I have hauled a lot of wheelers in different trucks but most of the wheeler was in the bed of almost all of them, some with gate down and some with gate up. I personally have no use for the Crew Max type beds (chevy had/has it too) they are just too little for most loads. I would trailer it with a Crew Max, a 700 lb CAN AM 800 is heavy!

I wish I had the room for a trailer. I have a house with a 2 car garage with my truck and a Honda Accord. I wish I got the 3 car garage than my problems would be solved.

How about something like this to keep the weight off of the tailgate. It can probably be modded to lift the back end of the ATV just a little off of the tailgate. Here is a video and there web site. Heck, I might just get one anyways.
Check this out. It maybe the answer to the crewmax prayers.
Add up to 4 ft. of usable cargo space to the bed of your pickup when you're hauling your ATV with this heavy-duty extender. Load tested at 450 lbs., the carrier simply plugs into any 2" receiver. It sports a 47-1/2" wide platform to handle any load, from two wheels of your ATV to construction materials for around-the-house jobs. Adjustable height to fit nearly every make and model of truck. Sliding tabs hold fingers of ATV ramps. Durable powder-coated steel construction withstands the elements.
Weight capacity: 450 lbs.
Length: 15 inches
Width: 47-1/2 inches
Wall thickness of tubing (in inches): .128, 1/8 inch
Cabelas
Or this

Take your truck to the ATV dealer and see if it will fit yourself. If they want your business, they'll be happy to oblige.
On the contrary, you could always buy a DC longbed, take your CM cab and put it on the DC chassis, then buy a standard 6.5 bed and install that on the chassis. Then you'd have a CrewMax w/ a 6.5 'ft bed (after you chopped a few inches of the rear of the chassis). However, I bet this would cost more then a few pennies. Can't wait for Toyota to do this!
If your ATV wheels are resting on your tailgate, lay a couple of 2x6's or 2x8's in your bed that are long enough to also extend over the tailgate. Drive the ATV up on these boards and they will help keep the ATV's weight off of the tailgate, especially. when you hit bumps.
