Default cancelling extended warranty

Has anyone cancelled an extended warranty or pre-paid maintenance pkg?
I bought both when I bought my Tundra but I didn't trade in my Yukon as I was planning to do. I still use the Yukon for beating around and for work on some weekends so after 5 1/2 months I only have 2800 miles on the Tundra. At this rate I will get about 4-5 oil changes out of the pre-paid maintenance program. It would cost much less to pay for each one. How difficult would it be to cancel?

I canceled a factory extended Warranty on a Honda, l just called the number on the warranty, then had to turn in some paperwork to the dealer and wait for a check to come in the mail.

I know years back I cancelled an extended warranty and they pro-rated the refund, based on how long I had the warranty.

I think I called the 800 # for the warranty, and they walked me through the procedure. I don't recall it being a hassle, just a few hoops to jump through. Then a check showed up a few weeks later. :-)

How long did you have it before cancelling? Did you lose much for cancelling? I've had mine for nearly six months and haven't used it at all.

All the info should be in your warranty paperwork. IIRC, in my situation, I had 30 days for a full refund, and it was prorated after that, as long as you didn't use the warranty, you could cancel whenever you wanted.

You get 60 days to cancel in CA. I totaled my first Tundra after 5 weeks and cancelled my warranty to get a full refund. I did buy another warranty on my replacement truck. Piece of mind for $1500 for the Platinum plan.

Same here, few miles on mine. Dealer did tell me they will ignore expiration dates on the pre-paid plan. Relax and enjoy your Tundra.

If you have a EXTENDED warranty how could anyone here use it on a new Tundra. Your regular warranty is good for 3 years / 36,000 miles so I would think any warranty work would be covered under that first unless you have somehow racked up more than 36,000 miles. Full refunds should be in order.

I canceled one on a 3 month old 07 FJ that I traded in for the Tundra. Finance guy told me I missed the date by 1 week. It cost me $40 to cancel.
