I think CR is full of crap and is succumbing to pressure from domestic automakers in an attempt to preserve what is soon to be the end of an era - a US stronghold on the light truck market - a little while longer.
When I think that as my head hits my pillow tonight, I will sleep just just fine. I hope they wake up and smell the coffee.
My 2 cents.

I have always like CR but have always thought that they received money from companies under the table. I always thought that Toyota was one of the companies paying. How else does the 2000-2006 Tundra get rated the best fullsize pickup truck. My 2000 and 2004 were great trucks but to actually even attempt to call the fullsize is a joke.
I like my Tundra and could give a crap what CR says about it. For those who are now saying they are going to get a chevy or ford, I am confused. did Chevy and Ford actually rank better in reliability than Toyota?
I think it's interesting when that rag C/R puts Toy on a pedestal, Toy fans think it gospel.
Now that the table has turned, C/R is the anti-christ.
BTW, it's the same at the domestic sites.........C/R is crap when they knock their brand, but now they'll be all over this and how right on C/R is.

I'm possed, I don't have a job where I can get a payoff or kickback.
and by the way I'm smart enough to turn on my pt time 4x4 when needed and besides awd systems use more gas and are not nec.
Maybe they really are biased towards American cars since the tundra is so American-they may not have been able to get passed that??????????????
yeah go buy that chevy truck my 02 2500hd was the biggest piece of sh*t i have ever owned. about 35 times in for repairs in 4 1/2 years and i dont know how many times something was wrong and i herd can't duplicate the problem so gm could get out of fixing something. i am very happy so far with my tundra

I think that no matter what you read, it is more than obvious that the Tundra is the better choice. I looked at all the trucks in this class before I bought my Tundra.... I KNOW I made the right choice.....

I didn't reply to his thread then and the only reason I replied in this one now is because it is simply BS. I dont subscribe to CR and really dont give a chit what they state or how rosey a picture they draw. My best friend for 15 years is a Service Manager in one state at a Toyota Dealership and I have some very good friends that work as techs at a Toyota dealership in my state. I take their word in far greater vane than a BS refrigerator rating company could ever dish out. If the Tundras aint in the shop being worked on at an alarming rate then the Tundras aint in the shop being worked on at an alarming rate. plain and simple, those are the only opinions I value. And I assure you that if those opinions I value from those in the know changed, I would gladly tell anyone on this forum what I know to be truly wrong with the new Tundras, there just aint much wrong thats worth mentioning. How big the front seat is or how cushy the ride is means "0" to me. Its fun debating back and forth here with folks but cmon, CR included, the BS gets way too deep here sometimes and the BS stirers just make me wear chest waders instead of hip waders. Big picture folks is that the Tundra is what it is and the majority of Tundra owners know this and oh by the way they (the majority) arent members of this forum.

Has any one read the October 16, 2007 Consumer Reports update? They no longer reccommend the 07 tundra V8 at all. I gets a full BLACk circle now...
I was considering a 07 Tundra, but I don't think so now!!!!. Kerry
Then don't buy one......you're the only one missing out.
