Since I have a Limited, it was just plug and play! I used Stanton's directions and pictures so it worked like a charm.

I set the sensitivity to 8 and it makes you jump as soon as you tap the window.

No activating for me.

Now I am thinking about that hood switch...
glad to be of service.

BTW, they used a laptop-sized Snap-On programmer so a TechStream isn't the only option (i.e. any well-equipped Toyota shop).
yup,Snap-on handles all of that for Toyota, even the electronic parts cat.

good deal on the activation, just go gripeing and complaining, they 'll fix it for ya..........

i had my dealer install the gbs and they set it at 5 saying that thunder or other high pitched noises could set it off. The key jangling doesn't set it off at 5 for me. I had the installer show me that it worked..........he clanged 2 large wrenches together inside my cab and it set it off.......pretty loud.

If I want to increase the sensitivity, how do I get to this switch? Is it hard to do? how much time and what tools to get to it?

Small flathead screw driver and its right over the left knee when you sit in the drivers seat. Just take off the top 2 clips of the lower panel and you should be able to reach it.

I have the SR5 with keyless entry. Do SR5's have the engine immobilizer? And how can I go about getting the service departments around here to activate my alarm, if the "claim" they know nothing about it?

Thanks

This is a not true, though the GBS will make it more effective. All they have to do is plug in the TechStream and turn it on. That simple. I'm not saying they're lying, my dealer didn't have a clue till I showed them how on the 2nd trip in.

There are three requirements for the Alarm to be installed already.

Must have either version of the V8 engine.
Must have the immobilizer (beside factory clock, red light shaped like SUV with key shape inside)
Must have keyless entry

If you have all three all you need do is have the dealer turn it on.

Do you have any instructions so I can get the dealer to realize how to go about activating this on my truck? My salesman said he talked to his shop foreman and nobody there has any idea what I am talking about or even how to access it through their Tech Stream. Any help for info to help these guys realize what to do would be great.

Thanks
